FR-S Or FR-S 10 Series?

Sorry If this is in the wrong place, or there is already a thread for it, I could not locate it, Sorry!

So I have the Chance to get my hands on an FR-S in December and I have done a lot of research on the Base model and I’ve looked into the 10 Series as well. I understand the idea behind getting an anniversary edition of anything really and I can see where the value lies, I’m just looking for opinions from those who have the 10 series vs the base model and if there really was such a big difference and if the money you pay for the 10 is worth it.

And on a side note, Is it just me or does the 86 emblem on the side front fender look like a damn nazi symbol???

Well to me I dont see the Nazi simbol but I am sure that if I look for it alot of things will have nazi simbols, anyway.

I have a base model and If I had $4,000 more and I were to stay with this car forever I buy the 10 Series. Just because it may be a car that not a lot of people will have.

If you like the 10 series...get it.

But don't get it thinking "it will hold its value, and be a classic one day". Because it won't. It is not exclusive and they made a ton of them.

I do like the options on it and the color is nice looking in person though.

I'd say wait another month and get the Monogram Series in January. More features than the 10 series, with all the colour choices of the base model. Can't go wrong! I think the features are worth the money though. Heated seat systems and push start systems and auto-levelling HID headlights are possible in the after market, but it's a big hassle to do all those things and even then, it might not be as clean as getting all those things right from the factory. Plus, all those additional features in the aftermarket would add up to the higher price you paid for the Monogram Series anyway.

I have yet to see anything even remotely official about the monogram series, for all we know somebody made it up. Go searching, there is nothing but information about the IQ.

It's not made up. I went and asked a few different people at the dealership and they all said it was coming.
Besides, it was only bound to happen at one point or another considering all the people whining about not having all the GT86 features in the FR-S when the BRZ had the same features everywhere on the planet.

One thing Seattle Ft86.

I see you live in Seattle. I bought my 4 runner from Toyota of Seattle and they were great...Arson was my salesman.

I bought my BRZ from Mike Scarff Subaru (its in Auburn) and got 0% interest and a great deal.

I say this because there are some really bad stealerships in the tacoma/seattle area.

check the NorthWest section and look up dealership ratings. May be helpful.

They are the same vehicle. It all comes down to the options you want. I for one went with 10 Series. I personally enjoy the added luxuries of keyless entry & push button & automatic climate control. The headlights & colour was another strong selling point. But like people have brought up, if you want even more luxuries & choice of colour, wait for the monogram series. However, if you want this car just for the sake of "pure driving delight" and plan to track it, why not go bone stock and save yourself some money for some mods.

If you need any more help deciding, there are plenty of threads on BRZ premium vs. BRZ limited and its the same kind of debate, what features do you really want?

GL with decision!

I just think the 10 series looks more classy. Thats just my opinion. The interior looks cleaner with the push start button, no hey hole, and the climate control is awesome. Stock HIDs ftw and will always look better than aftermarket. I love the uniqueness of the color and the DRL will easily distinguish you from everyone else. I think its a win
