Chimera's Fire strom FRS

This front post is really out of date...

Love working on this car, decided to start a car journal thread.
Before the FRS I had a 2000 Hyundai Accent, which is still running.. (210k+ miles) and an 06 Vstar 1100 somewhat heavily modded, which I traded for the car.

Details:

Dealer Installed:
*Borla Axle Back exhaust
*OEM mud guards
*Trunk mat
*GA Legal Limit Tint
*Paint Guard film.

Mods:
Performance:
*K&N Drop in Air Filter
*OFT

Aesthetics:
*Phastek Performance Dome light LED kit, Red
Foot Well LED strips, also Red, linked into dome light
*3 Red trunk light LED strips
*Vinyl wrapped Side vents Glossy Black
*Painted 86 badges
*Painted rear Scion Symbol, (front is untouched.. not yet 100% on how I like the back)
*Black license plate frame, simple is better.
*Iggee Custom Seat Covers, Red and Black

Audio:
*JL Audio PWM110-JXWXv2 with Grill
*Alpine KTP-445U (replaced Stock Amp)
*Infinity Kappa 62.11i installed in doors
*Vaistech SL3sat + SXV200V1 (Sat radio on stock HU)

Other:
*Cargo Tote from Pep boys

Favorite mod so far:
Iggee seat Covers
-big improvement in look and feel of interior.

Current Works:
Working on getting Helix Clear side markers in trade with another forum Member (RedFRS) for smoked that I had installed.
Thinking about HU upgrade plunge, so many choices.

I did spray paint
took it off and cleaned it,
2x coat primer
3x coat gloss black
then I used a dark acrylic red, and a bunch of cotton swabs to make it stay where I wanted
then 3x coats of clear coat.

On mine the red isn't holding up as nicely I would like.. I'm thinking about trying again.

installed some new clear side markers.
sliced them to the turn signal circuit,
taped off the original side marker circuit entirely.

And @Diode Dynamics Switchbacks in the front and stage 3's in the back
Gotta say the LEDs sharp on/off cycle looks nice.

some crappy photos that make the switchbacks look like gamma ray guns.. might should have used night mode.

random ramblings.

I have been tinkering with additional custom lighting ideas for awhile now.
I'm starting to collect parts.

At one time I thought about making an exterior lighting component that would mimic the fade effect of the dome light.

observing the dome light, I'm not sure its really PWM. The quality of the fade from the LEDs I have installed there now is too rough I think, they sort of go partially lit, then all the way off.. I think it does a standard voltage fade probably with a capacitor discharge. I have a friend with an oscilloscope who offered to let me borrow it to log the output. More on that later.

anyways, I ordered a winjet fog light switch. Debating to myself if I want to figureout how to link it to the factory harness to light to dash fog light indicator.

I don't have any, I could take some, but they look the same.. but brighter? only a video would show the sharp on/off cycle that I'm really liking about the LED upgrade.

there are strips attached to each wheel well liner, using 3m tape and zip ties that are looped thru the liner itself.

I've seen you say your car has puddle lighting underneath in another thread. Could you post or pm me pictures of it? I'm wanting some purple lights under my white BRZ, but I don't like the light bars.
