Really interested in this header. I have the TRD cat back, stock dp/op but how much louder is it with the OP and also will I notice a huge sound difference with my TRD catback? Also looking to get it cerakote coated + heat shield through ft86motorsports what does the heat shield do? Thanks all, still new at this

Should be a sound increase, pretty significant too.

Heatshield is to prevent as much heat as possible getting to your oil pan right by some of the bends of the header. It's important to keep your oil levels at the right temps and our cars can run the close to high pressure temps when having fun, at least from what I've read/heard.

Significant sound increase with or without the overpipe?
Thanks for your help! Really appreciate it.

Either way there should be a sound increase, but especially with catless OP

Have a Gruppe-S header/overpipe waiting to be installed and have a question referencing the install. For the header-to-OP and OP-to-FP connections, is everyone using the supplied hardward and not the stock ones? Also, I had read on a few DYI installs of people using locktite on the OP bolts, thoughts on that?

I have a Gruppe S with a JDL high flow front pipe and an invidia q300 exhaust, no drone as such but the exhaust is loud.

I've been chasing this sound around on and off since I installed these. I finally got a good clip today, can anyone chime in on whether this is "exhaust leak" sound or "thin-walled header" sound?

This was with a 100% stock engine/drivetrain car.

I can't really hear the whooshing/rasping sound on that clip, but maybe my ears are just stupid. If it's not a problem I'll stop trying to fix it and maybe just get a catback to cover it up

So i was thinking of either purchasing these or perhaps the OFH or the tomei. As i am reading through the forum i keep seeing posts about the header making weird noises. So now i am a little shaky on them. Could anyone shed some light on the Gruppe-s ? if you were able to find a solution?

The noise is because of the thinner pipes, that's it. If it bothers you I think the OFH has the thickest walls, close to OEM at least so there's no weird noises.
