Fuel Pump Upgrade

Hey all,

My OEM fuel pump is starting to go so while the car is down, I知 taking the leap into a big boy fuel pumps for our cars. I went ahead and purchased the Radium Pump Housing Kit to have that mini-surge tank they mention about. But since I知 going with that and the other radium plumbing kit, I知 not quite sure what pump to use. I知 looking into the DW440 since it fits. The car is currently my daily (or was) and not sure if I can use the dual speed pump controller kit that I知 currently looking at. I知 just trying to future proof myself so if I need to go larger injectors, I知 not going to run out of fuel-pump. The current HP goal is 200ish NA. We池e pretty close to that on the current tune (185 whp). Probably won稚 gain much but a boy can hope. With that said, can I run the DW440 on a stock harness loom and control it via ECUtek? (Probably a question for my tuner but he痴 on vacation until May and I don稚 wanna bother him).

If your goal is 200 whp, there is zero reason to upgrade (capable of 300-350 on stock fuel pump), and you are only then moving from a highly reliable factory fuel pump to a less reliable aftermarket unit. No benefits, only downside.

I agree with terboboost. Even tuners would say, to stick with the OEM fuel pump. You're just pouring money that isn't necessary if you're not putting down 350+whp. OEM fuel pump costs between $80-$180 whether it's used/new. If your goal is just 200whp, stick with the OEM Pump, and no need to upgrade any of the fuel systems.

UEL/EL header, FP, Catback, and E85 are enough to get close to 200WHP on an ECUTek tune.
