According to her, the ECU was useless at that point becuase they could not reflash it with anything at the dealership. The only option was to replace the ECU.

So, maybe you can flash back to stock, but is that only an option for the person who bought the kit (license, cable, etc)?

Not trying to prove anyone right/wrong, I'm curious about the validity of the story.
Yes, it can be flashed back to stock, just no with the dealer tools. You flash it back with the ecutek cable and they'd have been fine.

Ok that's kind of what I was thinking. They would have had to purchase the license and cable to get the ECU reflashed to stock.

or send the ECU back to ECUTek, pretty sure they'd flash it back to stock for free or a small fee.

The other option would be to contact the previous owner and have him do it.

License is on the Ecu.

So they just need a cable to flash back to stock

You posted that Gem in the the other Unichip thread.

Curious if you just don't know any better or are deliberately misleading?

As do you.

I mean, Ecutek is the ONLY one with SD support, which we NEED for forced induction.

You said it, it was first page of this thread.

Why? Why would a "Pro Tuner" say something so silly?

That comment was towards brzedit.. Glad you pick and choose what to respond to.

Don't be mad you saved yourself a few hundred dollars and bought the wrong software.

I have a nice collection of Tactrix cables building up, maybe you'll want to buy them lol

Even though I'm not a unichip fan I have a lot more respect for them than that software you use which is a rip off from ecutek..

At least unichip put in the hardwork

It was in this thread.

And you still believe we NEED SD if we go Forced Induction?

You mean us Ford and Chevy guys have been doing it wrong for 20 years?

And slander will get you nowhere without backing it up with concrete proof.

If the comment your quoting was in this thread it was before they mentioned it, and I believe I said wow, that's cool or something.

You can only go so far with these type of MAFs.. When you actually tune a car that pushes the limits you'll find that out.

You clearly have too much free time on your hands.. Go do something productive with your time.
But seriously I love the attention, so your not hurting my feelings.. Lol

So when "you" can do SD, its like magic, wow, gotta have it, play it up!!!

But Unichip does it, and we get a cynical "wow, SD, way to go"??

Man, have you thought about used cars sales?

You made it sound like ANYONE with forced induction NEEDED SD. The MAF map works easily for 90% + of the guys here going forced induction.

I put 7 Genesis coupes across my Dyno today while Jay from SFR was doing the tuning. I'm done working, now here to pick on your misinformed(or dishonest?) comments.
