Porsche is big into offering different colored seatbelts from the factory, but I've never seen an aftermarket company offering such a thing. Probably too much red tape/ lawsuit exposure, given how important of a safety item it is.

the colour has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the seatbelt. not sure where you got that idea from? lol.

they do look cool. i'd imagine the idea came from the different colours of racing harnesses.

No s**t the color has nothing to do with seatbelt safety. But to make them in different colors, you have to make them first. And how many aftermarket seatbelt manufacturers (that are DOT legal) do you know of? Making seatbelts that meet DOT standards is a pain in the butt, and it's not worth it for a lot of companies. No money there.

Of course colour doesn't change effectiveness, but short of getting the factory where they make the Zx6 seatbelts to do a run of a different colour, it's probably never going to happen.

You can't just make some seatbelts at the shop down the road. They are very vehicle specific, and on top of that, on new cars they contain an explosive pre-tensioner.

There are a few different options for aftermarket seatbelts here in Aus that a lot of the compliance workshops used in the grey import days. I'm not familiar with american DOT requirements though but ADRs (our equivalent) is very strict also. As you said, probably not any money in it to offer anything but the usual grey or black. in fact i think 99% of them are black.
