TRD Supercharger for FR-S "Confirmed"

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...confirmed.html

Quote:
During the unveiling of the Stout Racing Pirelli World Challenge Scion FR-S today at the 2012 SEMA Show, the folks at Scion had a surprise for everyone present.

Stout Racing announced that it is working with TRD to produce a supercharger kit for the hot FR-S, which will undoubtedly please all FR-S owners worldwide. Since the Stout Racing FR-S is competing in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS class, the TRD supercharger must be made available for the public in order for the race car to compete with it.

Unfortunately no specifications were released beyond that point, but the team is hoping to finish the R&D phase on the forced induction soon as it gets ready for the season opener on March 2013.

I'm hoping this cost around 5k installed? Factory warranty would be nice.

Hmmm... I'm guessing exclusive licensing agreement with a well-known supercharger manufacturer.

Eaton TVS R900?

Someone buy one quick so we can know. It would be the smallest TVS charger to come out so far, I think...

YES that would be awesome! good for about 260whp. the R900 was prototyped on the Cobalt SS and it made more power than the factory turbo.

Considering the cars in World Challenge GTS make between 300 and 400 hp I would assume this would be capable unit.

What I'll be watching for most from the team next year will be the reliability of the car.

R1050 would put you in that range. maybe R1320 for the upper 300s

glad I don't have to hold my tongue anymore lol. I told you guys back a few months ago to wait for sema to see a FI option that would retain the factory warranty, and this was it.
