Ken was at the premiere for the FR-S last Wens. can't imagine Scion not using him in some way to help market the car.

I almost what that gauge package. I hope Scion offers it. I saw that one Toyota 86 at the Tokyo auto show that had the gauge package and a cell phone mounted. That would be pimp if there is a built in amp for the 8 speakers in the car so you did not need a stereo deck.

Don't we all but he is a Ford man now
ken has just become the face of Scion Racing is all. he has been in with scion racing the longest and the gen 1 drift tC was huge in our community.

Now the only question is.....WHICH COLOR do I want?
Darn thing looks good in every color!
Love the drifting, sliding, tossing!

Awesome concept and execution! Well done Toyota and Subaru.

And what has he done in that time? One FD podium back in 09. All scion is proving here is they value the image of the kid racer over a real winner.

Hey Kids Heart Just wondering how old you are ? Anyways Ken is the face of Scion just like Sydrin mentioned. Also he's my age 25, and he's well known in the drift community of both countries. Back then when we were about in high school everyone here in America was all crazy into Fast and Furious and still just like America, Horse power was the craze. While People like Ken and few were into drifting Drifting wasn't even that big yet, Ken and many like him represent the first generation of Drifters in America. He's become a well known name, and one of Scion's target with this car is the First Gen Drift followers(The Biggest Market for this car are these first gens). The people who help bring the sport to America, or the people who were sliding in parking lots in High school while everyone else was still racing in a straight line.

Supporting Ken is like supporting that generation, not to mention so many aftermarket tuners like Greddy is from that generation as well. Ken Gushi is like a name that everyone that follows Drifting will recognize. It's like Tiger Woods, his golf game sucks now but he's still associated with Golfing. People know him. You can ask an average Joe here in the USA about drifting and most of the time They'll only know Ken or Tanner.

Ken is a perfect Marketing person for Scion, The fact he's well known in Japan as well probably also makes it easier for the Japaneses team to work with him as well.

That silver car is just begging for red paint on the brake calipers, it would look great with all the other red accents. This car looks better in each new color I see lol.

they feel ken can relate to their target audiance..... i'm only speculating here btw but thats my logical guess. i'm not saying he is a good front man i like rado personally but i don't make decissions.

I'm surprised no one made any comments about this statement in the article:
Quote:
Initial tests of two right-hand drive models proved pleasing but left us without the wow factor the car’s hype suggested. Those models did, however, give us a chance to get familiar with the track and once behind the wheel of the lone left-hand drive U.S.-spec Scion FR-S turn one hit us like an epiphany.
Are they saying that the left hand drive FRS is so much better than the right hand drive 86? I'm confused.

Good catch. That goes well with C&D's review and proves the FR-S does have superior suspension tuning for better handling.

No they're inferring a lack of familiarity with driving a RHD vehicle. It takes a while to get used to being on the "wrong" side of the car. Being American journalists, their RHD experience is going to be limited, possibly nonexistent.
