Nope it's pretty easy. Just take your time and make sure they're centered. Also tigheten the three bolts progressively. I went hand tight and then about a quarter turn on each bolt until it was tight.

Olivia has new tips!

All installed. As mentioned earlier I went with the black ovals. below is a photo of the new ones (left) and the stock (right) side-by-side. I have posted some other comparison photos including on-car on my Owner's Journal here.

There are 3 on the new one, but I consider that a good thing. You'll need a 10MM socket for both stock and new. As mentioned above, progressively hand tighten the new ones first until you have the exhaust pipe centered "just right", then continue to tighten with socket or wrench.

Took me no more than 10 minutes including taking time to take photos.

i purchased them and installed them today as well - but i did the STAINLESS steel ones.. not the black. those look fine on the dark cars .. i think alot happier than the stock junk . i too had to drive to another store to get the 2nd one -- but luckilly i didnt mind the added 12miles on the FRS !
Post a pic! I love the black tips but I like the idea of the contrasting stainless steel too..

So... apparently BOTH my bolts broke? What the hell... they were way too tight to begin with and now I have to get out the drill to remove them since I can't get the stock tips off with the busted bolt shaft in there... THANKS TOYOTA, I MEAN SUBARU.

You could search for the brand. I don't think they are exclusive to Pep Boys, but I could be wrong.

Not just about being black, these tips are much bigger and look much better than the small stock tips

Yea, see post #44 above for a side by side. There's a reference to my owner's journal there with more photos. Big difference.
