Does it offer the same amount of cooling for oil as the Jackson Racing oil cooler? Does it improve over OE coolant heat exchange despite the extra load?

I would think abrasion would take a little bit longer ? This was after three trackdays only.

Have you read any of the thread? FFS

It's quite clear that's from abrasion. How hard it was rubbing, etc, all come in to play.

If I take a hose and lightly rub it on smooth plastic, or roughly run it across concrete...........do you think they will degrade at the same rate?

This shouldn't need a thermostat. It will rely on the coolant's thermostat to maintain temperature. The temperature of the oil should come up faster, and be more stable.

I've been advocating for a good setup like this for a long time now. Robiespec tried, Skunk2 tried, and ACE tried that I know of. All failed for various reasons.

Now I need to reconcile that price. I'm sure it's fair for what the part is, but for an NA Street car in eastern Canada, I'm not sure if I can justify it to myself. As the weather warms and I start driving the FRS more I'll monitor my oil temps more closely and see whats what.

I'm really glad to finally see a reputable company bring this to market. I had high hopes for Ace, but they just couldn't get the cost down. Skunk2's was an ill conceived disaster from the one person that posed about it. Seriously, it seemed like they didn't even look at the car when they designed it, just bought a rad and made something similar in size but with an oil cooler loop. And Robiespecs (is it Robispec?) ... well, that was covered earlier I'm the thread.

JR's testing parameters and standards are quite aggressive. The type of thermostat being used is used for OE markets as well, which have a very strict quality control.

Abrasion is bad thing. We've seen ill-routed lines puncture within a few days of use. Take exceptional time to route the lines accordingly so they do not rub on anything. This will ensure reliable performance.

Throughout the years, Jackson Racing has been on the pedestal for high standards and you can definitely see that their products have stood the test of time especially on this platform. If you research their history dating back to the 70s, you'll see that their heritage is quite solid and a strong reason why the OE markets work alongside with them on various projects. Their expertise also reaches out to factory race teams that you may have already seen on TV as well.

Would you like to fund some testing?

I don't think data is necessary to demonstrate the benefits of a larger radiator and oil cooler, but if you insist, we're happy to oblige.

Curious to about warm up times as well. I live in a climate that super cold, up to 0f or less.. Know it's an issue for some with oil coolers.

Take the amount of time it takes for your coolant to fully warm up, and add about 90-120 seconds. That's about how long it takes for the oil to catch up. This is pretty universal for warm-up times with oil-coolant type systems.

Well, you're not wrong. But your post makes it seem the oil cooler is thermostatically controlled, which would be counter productive to the faster warm up times.
