Thanks for the part #. Put it in my Amazon cart.

It was kind of a pain to put it in my cart for some reason. I just ended up clicking the 'add to cart' button on the "bundle" and removed the unnecessary part from the cart.

Don't forget your local auto parts shop. I just picked up an AUTO EXTRA Part # 616-24524 (matches the WIX 24524) for *$10.99* + tax = $12.42. There's even installation instructions in the box.

Make sure you ask for a Honda Fit filter. I first asked for an FR-S filter and was quoted $42.05.

Also do not use pliers it is definitely unneccesary. I damaged the pin but no biggy. The trick is to put more pressure on the arm and push it to right side (while applying a slight upward pressure on the pin)

So I ordered this filter and was wondering, do you make arrow face downward or upward?

I faced it downwards but I dunno if that's right...

The filter is on the suction side of the blower, so the airflow arrow should face down, towards the blower. Some filters have an "up" arrow rather than an airflow arrow. That should obviously face up. :-p

So I tossed in the Wix filter .. so far I'm not seeing any difference ..
I'm kind of disapointed .. my AC still a bit stinky .. maybe it'll take a few more miles than the ~10 i tossed on it so far ..
i put the arrow pointing up like as it was in the stock set up .. tbh im sure it doesnt even matter.

I used the Fram CF10549 and I noticed the smell in my car went away. Only reason why I went with the Fram was because it's carbon activated I believe and it also has baking soda. Here is the link that I purchased mines and the fit is almost perfect like the above post said.

I thought i'd add some other options out there haha
and it was only $15 at a nearby store :P

Update 1/12/14: ok so after a few more miles the Wix filter is doing its job so it seems - smells are gone (even though my friend puked in my car - dw i had a bin for her to puke in) but what I noticed is that the filter seems to be impeding my AC - less air flow than stock in other words :X
not necesarilly a bad thing its very minimal and can just be comparing a used air filter to a brand spanking new one that needs breaking in heh

Just installed this (FRAM CF10549), fits pretty great. It's probably 3x heavier than the stock filter, much denser element.
