When I get mine I'll drive these until they're bald or heat-cycled out. Then I'll swap some hankook ice bears for the winter on the stock wheels, and some RS-3s on 2011-12 WRX stock wheels for the summer. Win in all weather. |

please stop talking about these tires prices, they are OEM tires, as I know, most OEM tires cost twice what it should... Continental DW are some extremely good tires for daily driving and weekend track days and the price is where it should be, BFgoodrich KDW are extremely grippy tires for the price but makes lot of noise... Yokohama S-Drive are silent, grippy and high quality but they wear fast and cost a lot...
But there is NO michelins I would put on any of my cars... sorry for the out of topic but OEM tires are made to be burned at the back on track days... on most cars |

Michelins are expensive because they are the highest quality tires. Sounds like you've had a bad experience before, but I have worked with tires from an OEM vehicle manufacturer perspective and can tell you that Michelin provides the best quality tires, hands down. That said, have you had any experience with the Pilot Sport PS2 or it's replacement, the Pilot Super Sports? The PSS is truely an amazing performance package. It manages better dry and wet performance than the PS2, while increasing tire life by 30%. And the tire life on PS2's was already very good! See www.DTROneLap.com for more details on my experience with PS2's. Disclaimer: I was sponsored by Michelin. However, that doesn't skew my perceptions of the tire.

99% of you will be swapping out the stock wheels anyways...
Cheap tires on stock wheels just to get you from A to B (Dealership to Home)

Primacy HP is not a cheap tire. Take time reading through the thread instead of making another misconception.

Fine with me if you're going to sell the stock tires right away. I just don't bother at all because I'm not going to sell 4 tires, which cost almost 1K for 250.

And so are their max summer performance Pilot Sport 3 tires, doesn't mean they're low gripping junk tires like on standard prius'.

I believe that they are pretty grippy on dry surface, but not as so for wet surface. Most Michelin tires suck on wet surface.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good set of winter weather tires that I might put on my FR-S? Right after I get the car, that's what I'm going to be saving up for so that I'm prepared for next winter.
