Yes, DCT is great... but ZF 8HP is pretty damn great. When I was at the event, I didn't hear journalist complain to Tada-san about transmission... or maybe they were trying to be nice to him.

In the end, you need to drive it and feel to see if Toyota failed to put DCT trans in there or not.
And good luck to any of us mere mortals who want to test drive the shiney new sports car in the Toyota showroom.

Haha touche... for few yrs & maybe in few yrs, we might see MT option. I wasn't expecting to go to Supra event. Technically I wasn't even invited. Then how did I get in? It's a very long story & off topic, so not gonna go there.

Maybe at your local dealership might have one and able to at least look and sit?

LOL at everyone complaining about the Supra. It's exactly what they want the 86 to become in its "next generation".

19 GT, manual $35k, auto $38k

19 GTS, manual $41, auto $44k

Using a broker you can get them between $3k to $5k cheaper

I don't want the 86 to become a 2-seat BMW.

how does the broker thing work? i find it odd that one must go through a broker to get those kinds of deals instead of being able to aquire a deal like that on your own.

A individual does not have the buying power of a broker, the broker will contact all the Toyota dealers in Australia with a request for multiple cars from multiple models.

i.e. 5 x 86, 6 x corolla, 5 x Camry, 5 x hilux, 5 x land cruisers.

They will then send you the price that they can deliver it to your door.

You can try and do the deal yourself, and if you can get it cheaper, there is no cost from the broker.

I have always found that the broker can get them for a few thousand better than what the dealer will give me.

You end up paying the dealer the agreed cost, the dealer pays your broker his cut.

It costs nothing to do, if you want more cash in your pocket I would try a broker next time you want a new car.

You can always try and get a better deal yourself though whilst you have the broker looking for you.

interesting. it makes sense, but i've never heard of such a thing in america, where a broker would barter for multiples of a car, and then the dealer would pay the broker. sure seems like less hassle than our american version where i could hire a broker, but need to pay him a fee after the entire deal...

6 grand between the GT and GTS is a joke, might as well buy a turbo kit for that difference lol.
