I chose to change the LSD with the final drive for two reasons. 1 everything was apart already and 2 I wasn’t sure if the taller gear would make the tires spin easier losing traction with the stock LSD. What other questions did you have?

That was really it, aside from how it feels to you in terms of performance ?? I actually just put the order in for them a few days ago with Spencer I'm super stoked to see how it is

It feel great aside from highway cruising at 4100rpm. But I think that’s more to do with the Tomei 60R exhaust. On the track it feels similar to a supercharged car and gets jut about the same times as well. I would recommend a diff cover with cooling fins as well, I’m using the Greddy unit.

Will the 5.29 work with OEM Torsen diff? My car is a daily driver only and at present has the Weir 4.56. Thanks!

Why wouldn't it if you already have a non stock FD?

I don't know if the 5.29 ring gear is too big to fit in there with the Torsen gears. Back in the early 60's I had a bunch of different ratios in my '57 Chevy and I remember that with some of them a different carrier was required, so I was wondering if there would be any kind of problem like that with the twins.

I didn't do the install so I'm not sure. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't.

Where is the best place to get the 4.88 FD I see them on weir website but not sure if it's the one for the Supra ?
Is weir the same as spencer fabrication ?

Spence Weir (in Cal.) has the 4.88 you want. Look up Weir Performance Engineering. Spencer Fabrications (in N.H.) closed up shop last year because he got a very good job offer and took it.

Ooh snap. So I went 5.29 from Weir on my car. It’s pretty fun and goofy. Can’t actually tell if my car is faster or slower, but it feels more fun in the sense that it makes you sink into the seat more and you’ve got to shift more. I think I’ve effectively lost 6th gear and gained a low gear, like if there was a .5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, R. Third gear feels like 2nd gear and 4th gear feels like 3rd gear. There’s a little more room in those gears though, so I think I’ll like it a bit more when drifting. 1st gear is super short and almost makes this impossible to stall with the supercharger. I can lose traction through 1st and 2nd and the beginning of third on a straight. I don’t think it’s for everyone, but it definitely is a difference. The Kaiju Motorsports charged $1700 here in Vegas for the install and replacement of bearings, if people were still wanting a relevant piece of info for pricing. Feel free to message me if there’s any questions about this on my build.

Here's a video with the 5.3 gears installed. I'm considering dropping down to 3.5 or 3.7 gears and using 2nd gear rather than 3rd gear. Currently, it feels awesome as is-- but highway driving is nuts... it's like 5k at 75mph or something goofy like that. Definitely not made for the highway commuters-- which I'm okay with since I take this to work on the surface streets.

Super fun though!

Too bad you are all the way in Vegas or I would see if you wanted to trade for a stock 4.1 pumpkin.

I want to go 4.88 or 5.29 with my Sprintex car.
