I think it's funny how many excuses this forum gives the car. The car is SLOW. The handling is okay. This is a $25k coupe, what do you guys expect?

I suspect it has to do with age, or at least "maturity".

One look at something like the Rocket Bunny catalog will show you the answer to that!

Tetsuya Tada said it himself that this car wasn't designed to go "fastest" from point a to b. The whole idea was to enjoy the thrill and pure fun of low-powered, incredibly balanced and affordable FR sports car!

IDK what do you expect?

You are right its a 25k coupe.

Is it slow? Compared to what, other cars in its price class?

Mustang/Genisis/Focus ST - yes, miata/civic - no

Its handling is ok? Wrong Its handling is excellent if not superb. Handles comparable to a miata and far superior to a Mustang/Genisis/Civic.

While the tires may sound like an excuse (because it is) the fact is the tires on the car suck and the second you change them the car benefits immensely. For some people (myself included) its not a factor because no matter what car they buy they are going to put custom wheels/tires on the thing regardless of what comes stock.

A bread truck could be faster. Hang your heads in shame at owning such a POS car.

Who cares. VW's are garbage cars. Junk. FR-S is not a ring time car. It's a car that is fun, and was meant to be modified by it's owner, if needed.

What do you drive? Handling is superb, not okay. And it's quick, not fast, not slow. Go back to the video game in moms basement.

My 2002 (commonly considered the 'worst' era for VW products) Audi TT (read golf) has so far been the most reliable car I've owned. Never needed anything outside scheduled maintenance. Something tells me you haven't had any first-hand experience with German cars. I get it though it's cool to bash on them.

The BRZ is my first Japanese car and so far it hasn't impressed me with reliability. Stupid little things need replacing more often than any ofy German cars. Parts are much cheaper, but this is the first car that I've ever had to buy a coil pack for, or a door switch, or a front bumper seal strip, or a window seal, or lug nuts.

The fun factor makes up for this, but as a whole this car isn't any cheaper to own than any of the Audis, BMWs, or Benzes I've had. Sorry, just remembered, the Audi TT did need an unexpected repair once; a fuse for the auxiliary fan. That sucked, like ramen for an entire month.

I appraise cars for a living. And German cars rarely pass inspection, and their resale values are the worst. Yours is the exception. Next.

It's funny how people get mad when you point out the time is slow. "it's not about numbers" but that's not what they respond to posts about the numbers.
