Got rid of the sound generator.

Quite surprised that it sounds better than when it was plugged.

It made a notable difference? I have been knocking around the idea of a full delete but didn't think there would be enough change to warrant the work. If it does I need to dig out my tools.

I'm a bit surprised too tbh. You know how cynical I am about modifications. No tools needed other than a 8 and 10mm socket. Rest can just be removed manually.

Don't really need a plug either as the glove box one works. Mine just remained in place when I pulled out the hose.

I used a generic version of the Perrin type of inlet hose. Could have been slightly longer but seems ok. I'll keep an eye on it. If necessary I'll buy something more expensive.

Mid range seems much better and the car just feels less tinny and cheap.

Something that I hadn't considered but you've made some very persuasive points....grrrrr!!

In years to come the sound generator paraphernalia will be much sought after. I'm going to request all redundant generators are posted to me as I will make a killing in year 2035!!

I shoved the glove box plug into the sound tube before I even drove the car off the dealer's lot. The sales staff were totally baffled as to what I was doing. If it does indeed make a big difference with all that stuff pulled then I have a project for some point on the weekend.

Are you replacing the inlet tube?

Probably just plug it and see how that goes.
