I took a look at the 2013-16 cars on the tis website. And it seems that the cluster is part of the immmo system for turn key cars. Let me get a copy of the manual for immo settings. But it seems that if you can get a brand new cluster who hasn't been been programmed then a very simple procedure with techstream should allow it to get programmed on a turn key. Now, not sure how this would be with a used cluster .. if once the key gets programmed into the cluster it can't be deleted or reprogrammed. Or if it's difficult to do so. Or if it stores this is virtual "key" in a eeprom in the cluster (Which means a new one can be purchased and clone the "virgin" flash) or if it's internal the the main processor IC in the cluster itself.

TIS - TOYOTA 2017-2019 86 Repair Manual (RM2760U) IMMO reg.pdf

seems that push start will work just fine! but if you want to do it with a turn key then buy a new cluster and do the above procedure. Does anyone know were we could but these clusters btw? or even the non GR ones but still have the screen? trying to get the brz part number for mine but cant seem to find it. or anyone have one to sell?

i have the resistor values and the two pins needed to add to the cluster.

if you want to use the steering wheel for the buttons you will need also the clock spring and any extra pins associated with them.

Plug and play for the 2013 push start model? No modification to the harness?

Yes plug and play on a push button start, but you will be stuck on the defaut display unless you sort out the steering wheel switches or alternative switches to control the displays

I have the cluster working on my car and it's plug and play on the push start vehicles. you will need a steering wheel, clock spring, and instrumental cluster harness off a 2017 to be able to use the menus. The default screen shows you miles to empty, mpg, current mpg. It also shows your trip monitors.

Yea like most said its plug in play and almost everything will work. you will need to add the buttons somehow.

im working on a way to add buttons without wiring harness, new airbag, new clockspring, new instrument cluster wiring harness.. etc...

here is the link if you guys are interested.

How far have you gotten. I saw the thread and it seems as though you have discovered how to program the milage. If you get the button working, you’re my hero

Wwll pritty far haha. Designed a PCB board and making a 3d model of the blank button in the middle of the traction buttons to add the directional joystick with the back button.

Oh and yeah i managed to mile correct it. does require a eeprom reader and to take the cluster apart.

For the body trim not sure for the toyotas. but the GT trim seems to match up. but i remembered seeing somewhere were a toyota parts place you could get it for around 322 ISH. But make sure your car is a Push start for it to work as plug and play.

Yeah, i have a Monogram so it's push start.
question: do you have a rough idea of how much you're going to charge for the controller to cycle through the display?
question 2: what would I have to buy to be able to update the odometer?
