Agreed.... .... Esp. for ST class... more contact...more grip...

Bill... (BTW...love your t-shirt)
Nice to see you taking the methodical approach. Get it here, get some seat time, see what it likes.

Our shirt is specifically made to be comfortable while autocrossing. Just sayin'.

…against this teflon-like plastic part on the door itself. This pushes the door slightly against its hinges further stiffening up the chassis. The result is a better and more direct steering feel though the corners. Every little helps as they say, and TRD have actually patented this little gadget. I Likey...... makes sense and would appear to be an inexpensive worthwhile mod... I WILL be using this little device on my ST* Build..
I was wondering about those things; thanks for the clearing it up. Seems like a high bang-for-buck chassis stiffening mod and nice compromise to welding the doors shut without losing the functionality of doors. Simply genius.

I want to see numbers regarding those. There's no reason not to include them in the engineering of the car if frameless windows really reduce rigidity that much (IIRC that was the reason TRD gave for the development of these).

Reason not to include it would be another part number, which means more cost which the penny pinchers are not going to be interested in including it if not having it will not detract from the sport nature of the car. So even if it does do something, it doesn't do enough to justify the extra $0.50 a car (or whatever it may be). That or Subaru didn't care to include it and they didn't want to include the extra step or whatever it takes to do this on the assembly line.

* subbing *

I'm not jumping into the fray with this car yet until I drive it and hear how it performs at auto-x. If all is well I'll be running this next year in whatever stock class it lands in. Keep posting the info and pictures

Maybe they put a bit more stress on the hinges so they may have minor problems with them after a few years?

Where did you get something that cool done? And who made up the design? You get style points for sure, too bad they don't drop your time a little, huh?
