I had to drill a few new holes on the bottom Side of the splitter. I did not use velox support rods because I wanted to spend minimal Money in case it didn't work out. The splitter didn't like going 75mph without rods, so I highly recommend getting them. I used Joes Support rods, which work great, but velox makes such a great product that id just recomend using theirs so that you Don't have to shop around.

It wouldn't have been a good idea to install them with the Nuts on the bottom. There is a decent amount of extra threads sticking up, which would have possibly made contact with the ground if facing down. I did not have any left over shorter bolts that would have worked, otherwise I would have gotten rid of the excess threads hanging out.

Man the splitter looks gorgeous with the facelifted model. I intend on going for the race upgrade so shouldn't have any issues with all the downforce. Thanks for posting the pics!!

@Ebush Would you be able to let me know how much clearance you have with the splitter. You car sits pretty much exactly how I would like mine to sit.

We will have a GT86 specific model out shortly. This model will come *only* with the support/race upgrade due to the locations of the holes needed for this model.

Car looks great @Ebush

Thanks,
Eric

That's how the install is supposed to be. Granted, you as the end user can install it however you see fit.

I've changed my ride height since then, lowered it just a tiny bit, but now It's too low. I'd suggest just fine tuning your ride height until it's perfect for you and your surroundings. I have a steep entrance into work, and the splitter currently scrapes a small amount, so I plan to raise it back up a half inch.

Thanks, I plan to eventually grab the side skirts that you make. Any plans on making a new diffuser anytime soon? I'd love to see something similar to a Ferrari 430 diffuser on our cars. A stock one seems to be very close to a perfect fit for our rear bumper. Here is a quick photoshop I did of the 430 diffuser, I think this diffuser plus a center exit exhaust would look really good on an 86.

Is the race front splitter plus side skirts safe at high speeds? In Europe there is sometimes no speed limit so that you can go 170 or 180 mph if you have a turbo kit.

Is the race splitter plus side skirts safe at such speeds? Has this been tested?

Thank you.

It all comes down to how well you mount the splitter. Without support rods my splitter wanted to rip the front bumper off at 75mph. I added two support rods and have not had any issues with max speeds of around 125mph. If you plan to get up around the 180 area, I'd suggest maybe using 4 support rods. I have no experience with the side skirts, but I'm sure they would be fine as long as they are mounted very well.

Yes, you'll want the race splitter upgrade which is stated on our website that this upgrade is recommended at speeds above 100 MPH. The GT86 has less than ideal mounting which is why we are automatically including it in the GT86 kits (yet to be released).

No current plans to change up our rear diffuser. A rear diffuser like you are showing would be in the 4 digit range as it would need to be carbon. I also don't see a large number of people wanting to do it (50+), which would also need to happen.

Thanks,
Eric
