It seems it all depends on what you get from Seibon. Sometimes it's good, sometimes its bad. I have only have good things to say about Seibon because I didn't have a bad experience. I am also located in CA so it was easy for me to visit their shop directly, speak to them in person, pay in person and have it installed in person. I didn't have anything shipped to me, so there wouldn't be any surprise as to what I'm getting.

Below is the thread that I posted in about my experience with Seibon.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31411

I plan on buying a FR-S carbon fiber hood from them. I understand that Seibon may be heavier than other hoods, but if I really want to save some weight, I could lose a few pounds.

Just came across this thread and my 2 cents is that Seibon seems good on car's that's been out a while (maybe?), thus had time to fix the reported fitment issues. My friend's 2012 tC hood came in and the fitment was good, but the hood hinge holes and the bolts were both the wrong size. Made it fit with washers but that took away the clean look.
*note: also came nicely glossed, shiny out of the box. We didn't have to wet-sand and buff like some of the posts. Came out of the box show quality.

Yo.. I have the genuine trd kit.. and for the rear apron, it is NOT supposed to be installed with bolts or rivets.. the package came with double sided tape, some weather strips, and 4 bolts on the corners, thats it.. just wanted to let you know.

P.S. What happened to your reverse light/rear fog light!?

I rolled around in my stock exhaust for a while too all good..

That is until this came =)

I think its more of just a hit or miss company. You can find plenty of people on this forum with a quality product from seibon. But when you order something you dont want to "gamble" on weather or not you get a good product. I get that some products slip by which would be fine but since seibon refuses to do an exchange or refund on a bad product then they obviously know they mess up quite a bit. If I ordered a part through ft86speedfactory and another vendor that would take a refund or exchange on a bad product id have no problem placing an order.

Mine is the Seibon kit not the TRD Kit. Essentially CF Version of the TRD Kit from what it seems like in the picture. The body shop I went to recommended for additional stability during autocrossing etc that rivets/bolts be install at the top. Essentially they'd rather have it on there more secure than less also it probably weighs a lot more since its not real carbon fiber in comparison to TRD's which is plastic.

I blacked out my reverse fog light

AVM, it's so funny that you would post this. I was just talking to one of my supra buddies and he said the same thing. Because his car has been out since 1993, they've had time to make the necessary adjustments needed and now have the correct molds to make perfect hoods. Newer cars, like the FR-S may still be in the "trial and error" stage of getting the molds correctly. My buddy also mentioned that when the hood first came out for the supra, there were like 1" gaps in between and you could see the engine.
