Yesterday drove to Foxwoods casino in CT and back to LI to catch dinner, a show, and a (very) little gambling. Drag on the way up but tons of fun on the way back except for the number Civic owners wanting to race (not even SIs!?!?). Two highlights: got a couple of cans of Superior's Cover All from O'Reilly's (people on the 'Net swear this is the shiniest/longest lasting tire dressing -and cheap too!). I'll try it tomorrow weather permitting and got to partially try Meguiar's Ultimate Fast Finish -> spray on wax that provides a nice shine and keeps beading for months (we'll see).

Well, believe it or not, I washed my FR-S today. Yep, the whole thing, even the wheels, all in one session.

That may very well be the last time I wash my car. Why? Because it ain't fun no more. Save your negative comments unless you are over 75 years of age.

So, how will my car get washed? I have two choices:

* teach my 10 and 12 year old granddaughters how to wash it

OR

* take it up to the Brown Bear car wash

Comments?

This.
If I could have my grandpa alive to do it, I'd wash his car. Now I'm sad.

Road course or drag strip?
Last time I was there it was called Dragway Park. (Late 70's) How did they ever come up with the name Toronto Motorsports Park when it's 120 klm's from downtown?
We used to laugh at the strip in Georgetown being called Toronto International Dragway.

I just ordered 2 more wheels... I'm tired of my staggered setup.

Going square again.

Installed an authentic 5 panel Wink Rally Mirror. The supplied brackets did not fit perfectly. I was able to use the factory bolt holes for the sun visors, so did not modify the car. Will test it tomorrow when I go get my 10th oil change. Paid $500 for lifetime synthetic oil changes.

Also got 12mm hubcentric spacers (to replace my 10mm) for my rear wheels. Which will make them 18x9 +30.

Well, I added a half quart of oil to my FR-S. That brought the level up to the upper hole on the dipstick. Now I feel better, I was worried about oil starvation and spinning a bearing on my trips to Walmart.

So, off I went to find some oil, not just any oil, but Kendall (with liquid titanium) GT-1 MAX 0W-20. It's rare in these parts, so after not finding it at three different auto supply places, I went back to the shop that changes my oil and bought a quart from them ($9.46). YIKES, I reckon titanium is expensive -

The adventure continues, I had to use a pair of channel locks to get the filler cap off. Usually when I use a metal tool to loosen a plastic part - the part breaks. Not this time...

Then I went to pour in the oil and something told me to use a funnel, although the filler tube is pretty wide. Now, where did I put that funnel -

Found it, cleaned it up and I was ready to go. Now, what's with that "peel off" seal on containers, that never peals off. Where is my Stanley knife, not in the tool box - granddaughter used it last to cut cardboard boxes to make a doll house.

OK, I chewed it of (not really). Poured in 1/2 quart of oil, replaced the filler cap, checked the level, closed the hood.

YES! Another DIY project completed by humfrz -

I raced Super Street at both those strips back in 78 and 79.
