PROGRAM AUTO-ON HEADLIGHT FEATURE

All -

I have a Limited BRZ, went to the dealer today (Saturday) and the service department is closed on the weekends.

Anyhow, any idea how to 'reprogram' the timing controls on the auto-on headlight feature? I'd like to reduce the time for the headlights to come on via the dash board mounted sensor.

Please advise and thank you very much.

the sensor on the dash is the sun sensor . it tells your ac to work harder or not. i think you can not change the setting for the auto on light.

It does the headlights too, the computer uses the sensor to detect the amount of ambient light and then once it reaches a certain threshold it starts a timer. The default setting is after 30 seconds of ambient light below the threshold the headlights will turn on. Then after 30 seconds of light being above the threshold the lights will turn off.

This setting is only capable of being adjusted using a computer at the dealer, I also do not know if there is a setting for the headlights or not. I know there is a setting for the interior lights and the headlights turning off after you close your door. Looks like you gotta wait until Monday bro sorry.

EDIT: Just looked in the manual, the sun sensor has an adjustable sensitivity (i.e. the threshold for the timer can be changed) but it says nothing about the timer itself.

Yes, it can be programmed, but its not a time sensor. As the previous poster stated, you can adjust how much light is needed before they turn on.

It's sensitivity can be adjusted by the dealer to +40% down to -40%

Like I said, went to the dealer, closed on weekends.

Okay, I guess I'll go back (sometime, somehow). I can consistently count like the 1001..1002..1003..1004..1005 countdown before light turns on to at least be half of that 5 seconds - ish. Every situation, every trial, that's what it is.

Thanks!
