Sounds like you'd be spending as much as an ecutek.

Don't quote me on this but I think the tatrix can upload OFT tunes somehow. My guess in a couple years the tatrix will upload anyones tune (not saying that's ethical.)

Yes that about sums it up

Write you stock rom from oft back to car.
That will allow you to erase oft effectivly unmarrying oft
Write updated stock calibration rom to car with tactrix
Read updated stock calibration with oft this will marry oft to new stock calibration
Upload tune files for updated rom to oft
Flash new tunes based on updated rom id with oft

Neither oft or tactrix/ecuflash encript rom or change seed keys or change rom structure or embed licence info, unlike ecutek, brz edit which do one of more of these.

A stock rom flashed with oft or tactrix/ecuflash is a completly stock rom exactly what a dealer would flash

except I think there is a flash date. If the dealer see's a date your car wasn't in their garage its probably bye bye warranty without a receipt from another dealer for that time period.

If you could point me to this date location ?
In techstream i have only found time since DTC reset and miles since last reset ,no counters or date info just elapsed time
This reset could occurr with removal of batt terminal or fuse or flat battery.

Please enlighten me :-)

You are correct I worked on this over the weekend tatrix flash= same as dead battery to the dealer IMHO.

Got some major VVT Noise, on the other hand the car pulls good and the revs are smooth. Just sounds like shit.

OFT Stage 2 EL E85 V2.3
Nameless EL Header
Nameless mid/over with Helmholtz Resonator
Perrin 2.5 Resonated Cat Back
K&N drop in filter

Took the nameless downpipe out and replaced it with the stock one. No more VVT noise ! I can tell it's still there, just not audible anymore. Hopefully it's not hurting my gains but from the dynos I've seen on here it seems replacing the stock exhaust doesn't really net you any discernible gains.

EDIT!!!!!!!!

I recant my last statement. After driving around most of the day I notice that the stock over/front is definitely restrictive and drones. The revs aren't as quick, kinda the whole point of a ELH. I've read a couple post that getting the non resonated nameless downpipe covers the sound up, Hopefully it doesn't drone too or I will be back to square one minus 2-300 dollars.

My car has the same horrid noise, but I have a JDL UEL header and factory catback. I figured the Nameless pipe with the helmholtz resonator wouldn't be too bad, but it sounds like that. It's a LOT louder outside the car, and made me think the pipe was touching something. I think there's something about certain exhaust combos (maybe the OFT tune? I highly doubt that) that causes the noise. I'm going back to stock stuff until I get JDL replacements. It doesn't feel faster with the Nameless pipe anyway.

EL Comp smoothing

I did have the rasp noise between 3500-4000 rpm running Shiv's 1.59 settings. Improved a little bit with MAF rescaling and PII balancing, improved quite a lot after adusting for trims on EL comp table during closed loop operation, leaving VVT settings untouched.
Not sure exactly why it helped; I had rasp with foot flat which was in open loop operation and it was much better after adjusting the table.
My final EL comp changes compared to stock A01G ROM before FI:

Just interested in the philosophy behind adjusting the EL Comp tables ie why/how is is done.

I don't get the noise as on UEL header.

do you think the noise reduced as adjusting the el comp table put ecu into different load cell hence different vvt cam angles applied , hence reduced resonance ??

EL comp adjusts for erratic differences in flow/VE based on manifold pressure and RPM (like a Speed Density compensation for the MAF). To adjust it, I used closed loop operation trims (like scaling a MAF under 2.5V) and adjusted each load/RPM cell based on the trims. Data processing all done using MatLab scripts.

Load cell and hence VVT timing may have changed, though at WOT at 4000, my EL comp was only changed by <2%. I'm still not sure why adjusting this made a difference, though it was the only thing I altered at the time.

Sounds to me like valvetrain noise. Or a cam chain. Something like that. It's not a good sound.

It does sound "raspy" like the old E46 M3's... not sure if that's a good thing though.
