How to: Brembo STi 08+ (black) on a BRZ 2013
Donnor car: STI 2010
Receiver car: BRZ 2013 Needed pieces: -Front Caliper STi 2010 X2 -Rear Caliper STi 2010 X2 -Front Backplate STi 2010 x2 -SS braided brake hose (Can used the rubber one, from the BRZ or STI) -Rotor and pads STi 2010 -Caliper bolt STi 2010 -Spacer 3/4" for the front X2 First of all, rotor have been redrill to 5x100 It's a straight bolt on mods! It took me 4h to do it, taking my time, drinking a beer.. no rush BRZ OEM front brake BRZ OEM rear Brake We got to modify the front back plate. drill a new hole for the center bolt and re-work the outside shape of the 2010 STI BRZ front backplate STi Backplate Front Rotor size difference: Rear Rotor: E-brake is EXACTLY the same!! I don't even had to adjust it!! We got to trim the BRZ backplate around the caliper bolt and the outside part that interfer with the bigger rotor. Rear Rotor size difference WE got to install it with the caliper's specific bolt. Bleed it, with both bleeder. they have to be on the TOP of your caliper, not pointing down. I had to add 3/4" spacer to clear my wheels The braking feeling is smooth on the pedal, but If I need to, it's completely insane! It feels and look like if it was like this from the factory. I love it! Dom Last edited by dompower; 04-09-2013 at 01:27 PM. |

havent noticed, did you switch the front calipers left to right or not (also switching the bleeder position) ? the braking pistons size are different top to botom... if not - they aren't working as engineered |

I was going to ask the same thing. Did you swap the plugs and bleeders on your front calipers? Interesting idea reusing the front STI backing plate as well. I guess I am not the only BRZ running this full set of calipers now.

if the bleeders are still at the top - then the pistons are mixed up top to bottom you will face VERY uneven pad wear and low efficiency braking swap the fronts left to right so the bleeders are on bottom, then change the upper plugs to bleeders voila ! now the enginnering is as planned see the bore piston difference? because racecar and because STI have the calipers in the wheelbase, while brz have them in front of the wheel |

I am interested in the Backplate installation. So the rear we do not have to change right? For the front, drill and install? Thank you.

My wheel barrels get caked in dust anyway just due to the aggressive compounds, so it doesn't do anything for me. |
