firehawk, GT86, 4043km, 0068XX, in shop, Finland

Got CEL+SL on saturday when I stopped at traffic lights. Drove it carefully home and took it in for service this morning. The mechanic found P0019 DTC stored in the ECU. This is the first case in Finland, so they didn't have the new ECU program image immediately at hand but estimated that I may be able to pick up the car later today.

Drove it home from the dealer, VSC and CEL came on along with rough idle. Took it right back to Subaru of Ontario.

This is my second Subaru to cause me problems. First one was my STi with steering rack whining noise that developed right after I bought it.
So even on the newly deliverd cars it still not fixed?

Unfortunately, I guess they're still having issues.

VIN 13324

After looking through countless threads with many different problems, I am still considering picking up this FRS up today. Any idea if I'll be safer having a much higher VIN that what's posted on the current list of TSBs?

Problems are pretty rare. You have to remember forums get a lot of the negatives in one place. That being said im getting a new one in a few weeks but my car has had the most issues here in az.

The good thing is that scion and toyota have stood behind their product.

But isn't a BRZ with Vin 6029XX an earlier number than what has been coming out since the Fall 2012?

Just took delivery of my BRZ last week. It does idle a little roughly (I can feel my seat shake every few seconds) and RPM usually idles at 600rpm, but occassionally will go up to 800 and back down. This happens even when engine is warm, but no CEL light yet. Not sure if this is just part of the boxer engine?

Mine does this after the CEL fix.

Welcome to the boxer world. My old beater was smooth as butter compared to this car...

I'm actually not so sure, but I took delivery of BRZ only last week.

A little update on mine, dealer reprogrammed and replaced the ECU. Car runs like a champ with no idle issues. I also didn't notice any lag on the throttle like some other members on here are experiencing.

SL and CEL light came on today, going into shop this week.

Taking my injen intake off before to avoid getting hassled and possibly voiding warranty

Thats odd..I took delivery of my BRZ in Nov 2012 and it has Vin 6042XX. Was you car a re-sale?? or sitting on the lot for several months?? or maybe a demo??

I don't think the car was a resale, but yeah, it could've been sitting on the lot for a while. My car was actually from the east coast but was transported to the socal dealer I purchased it from.
