So you are saying that by making an (admittedly inappropriate) assumption based on my real world experience in house shopping twice in the Mid Atlantic region of the USA, as well as my experience with a number of domiciles of friends and family, most of which have heat pumps for heat, I need to base my statements more on real world experience? That is an interesting proposition.

Perhaps you have some experience with @korhun's region of Turkey and can confirm what sources of electric heat are most prevalent?

Where I grew up in NY, we had hot water baseboard heat with an oil furnace. That's what that picture looks like to me. Are you suggesting that is also hot water heater by a resistive element, or a resistive element radiator?

Also, korhun, what kind of electric heat would you say is most prevalent?

Nah dude that is a common baseboard heater which outstrips heat pumps by a long shot. Just because your house hunting is in expensive areas doesn't make heat pumps more common. And who the hell uses "domicile" in normal conversation?

I was thinking of something like this:

Or the modern infrared ones like:

I was expecting an answer like: "electricity is the movement of electrons, so there is a kinetic energy already present in it. So it can turn a motor easier" kind of answer

Anyway, I had a bad memory with those electric heaters. When I was 18 years old, I've attended driving lessons to get my driving license. The place we were driving was very, very cold. And we waited other candidates to finish their driving session in that cold. There was only one car and it was this:

When we finished, we went to a room, which had a electric heater in it. And I put my foots near to it. At last my foots were getting warm. Then I realized that, one of my shoe is on fire Nothing happened, but.. oh man.. I still remember how it hurt.

My understanding is that radiant heat pump systems are quite common on the eastern side of the US, but everywhere else from the midwest to the west, to other countries, it's not as common.

Wait, what?

The expanding gas from combustion is what is used to produce motion, heat is a byproduct of having to use combustion.

IE you can use compressed air to turn over an engine, you can't turn over an engine by just introducing more heat into the system.
