This looks awesome. I wonder how DB levels compare to the resonated 3 inch perrin. I like that this one is truly 3 inch all the way through... Perrin cuts back to 2.5" after their big resonator at the back..

Don't go 3 inch if DB levels matter to you. I'd only recommend doing it on a turbo car since the turbo keeps the volume down considerably.

Got busy this weekend with Gridlife prep!
Ducted and sealed my cooling package with a $19 roll of high density foam from the local fabric store. The foam is thick but pliable so stuffed it between the radiator and the frame and it will not move but I taped it down with Gorilla tape for extra security at speed. It conforms to the current home furnishings fire retardant codes and it will not decompose below 356F which my heat exchangers will never see. Next, I installed new, stiffer engine mounts from Torque Solution I was absolutely dreading this job, but it turned out to be a breeze which took about 30 minutes. I knew the passenger's side mount wouldn't be bad, but I had heard from many people that the driver's side mount was impossible to get out without dropping the exhaust manifold. For me, that would mean basically the whole turbo kit had to be removed. But after using a transmission jack to lift the motor about six inches, I removed the metal shield from the mount in place, flipped the mount upside down and snaked it out between the exhaust runners and the oil man without any major snags! The new mounts do their job well and the NVH increase isn't bad at all. I can only feel the difference at idle and coming off idle. They actually make clutch engagement easier, especially paired with this: Whiteline transmission mount insert bushing! That was a straight forward install and it definitely cleaned up a lot of slop that the mount was allowing without it. Last but not least, I pulled my fuel pump assembly back out and quickly snapped in the new Verus Engineering fuel starvation door! This little door snaps in to a pre-existing hinge (thanks, ToyoBaru?) and keeps a supply of fuel in the basket and prevents starvation under high demand, low supply situations, like a hard left-hand turn when running E85 and boost (like me). The starvation issue has been very prevalent and mine has actually starved a couple times when the car was NA and running E85. It's not something I want to leave to chance or be inconvenienced by having to run a full-to-the-brim tank every session on track. This door saved me and others thousands of dollars by avoiding an expensive surge tank setup to fix this annoying issue. Buttoned everything up, and now we're ready for some fun this weekend at Road Atlanta for Gridlife! The foam is invisible with the bumper on!! Last edited by ATL BRZ; 08-23-2017 at 09:58 AM. |

Nice!! I was considering a sheet metal for ducting the intake but this should work too. Thanks for sharing
