I love Hondas.. And owned many accords over the years. The honda V6 is a great motor in need of a worthy chassis. It makes the accord too nose heavy and numbs the steering. Plows in turns and just feels wrong. It's fine if you want a reliable commuter car.. IMO you're better off with the 4 cyl version. Not as quick.. But much better handling and balanced. I traded in my 05 v6 on the 4 cyl EXL version. Was a much better car! And they cripple the 6 cyl with lots of torque management otherwise it will eat the tranny. Well documented about their v6s and tranny issues. Also the i4 uses a timing chain so no pricey service like the v6 requires.. Food for thought..

If you aren't making close to a six figure salary with minimal extraneous expenses, get the FRS. Get the wrong 6-series and it will break you. Your taking a chance with one option, so the other is a clear winner if you're not Ballin like that.

Love,
Your friendly neighborhood BMW service advisor.

With any BMW, can't you just get an extended warranty?

But I think we are just going to hold off until later this year.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Warranties are extremely expensive on BMWs. Mine cost about $3k. Thats cost, not retail, and it was a 2008 135i.

I don't think either car is a fit for what you have in mind, really.

Extended warranty was like $3500 for my '09 3 series. You're still looking at the repair bills for a 60-80k car with the 6 series.

I have to agree with SVTSHC

That Bimmer will be a nicer place to be 90% of the time IF you get a really pampered used one and IF you get one of the V8 versions.

On the other hand, the Bimmer will have higher repair bills and it's already getting pretty long in the tooth.

How long are you planning on keeping the car? In another 3-4 years the 6-series will be plain oldsauce.

No 335i option? Much better car than the 6 series, albeit a bit smaller (but still roomier than the Twins).

I'm sorry but this has to be the most secret troll ever.

How could you possibly be comparing cars like this? Are you just looking at pictures? Oh its 2 doors RWD and pretty let me put it on my shopping list. Comparing sc430 6 series and FRS? Throw an F350 on the list too.

Sorry to be rude but you really seem to not know what you want out of the car. Sounds like you want to look cool going to church and family gatherings, so I'd get the badge the people you go out with idolize the most, and its not a scion or a subaru.

For a 2003-2005 you'd be talking 3rd party warranty. BMW factory extensions are an additional 1-3yrs and 34k-50k miles from the new car warranty expiration.

And yeah you'd be looking at 1.8k+ for a marginal third , 4k+ for a good one

Could it be CJ's alternate?

But seriously OP, figure what the fuck you want out of a car. Test drive them, evaluate your needs, budgets and come back when your comparison makes sense. Oh, and BTW, the SC430 is one of the most boring cars there is out there. And a 6 series will cost you an arm and a leg to fix.

Because they are in the same price range now... I clearly stated that if you actually read. Yes I am looking for a RWD coupe that is a 2+2.

And I have never been in the backseat of the twins before. As husker741 pointed out, there isn't really much room in the back so I crossed the twins off my list. It would be nice if some people read the thread before posting. Second time, I have already stated I am taking the twins off my list. Its you guys that are the ones that keep bumping this thread.....

Sorry if this sounds rude, but if you can't help someone out than please shut up. Why continue to add to the "trolling"?

I don't even know who that is.

It would be nice if members stop using this kind of language. I'm not looking for a fun car if you will. That is what the Supra and RX-7 is for. Just looking for a coupe that is a 2+2. Agreed, test drive everything I was just getting feedback so I can cross some makes and model off the list.
