I received my EcuTek pro kit a few days ago tried connecting it to the ECU with all software installed correctly, car turned in "On" position and cable green light is on while connected to the OBDII line but could not get a response. Any help would be appreciated...

When you turn the ignition, make it click to time so that all the diagnostic displays are up on you fuel gage and speedometer.

If the kit is from me your best bet is to take a look at my support console.. Lots of good info in there. If that doesn't help, submit a support request

Try using a different USB port. Only 1 works on my alienware mx11 with the cable I got from John.
I have a stock ECU that's never been touched before, I tried using a different laptop with XP as well.

I'm going to give the different USB port a try to see if it does anything.

On my cheap netbook, it has 3 usb ports. I think there is one port that I cannot use because it does not recognize it or the key. That's the one I use for my bluetooth mouse. Might have to do with the comm address that is assigned to that port. I dunno. Just try different ports.

I just tried all the ports that are available while rotating my license key and still nothing. I think I'm done for tonight, can't seem to get it to work.

after my latest run though the mountains with an r32 and subaru s204 ive decided i definitely need more power. tunes here in japan can run close to 2000 dollars especially on a new platform, thats close to FI money. so my question is this: i have full catless from the stock header back , and a drop in filter, would ur stage 1 tune be alright for that, and what octane is it? im running 93 AKI over here. also, my car is JDM spec, what issues would we run into there? if i remember correctly you switch between maps with cruise control, but i dont have that.

Everything you asked has already been answered in this thread. Start by just reading his info on page 1, that should answer some of your questions. The tune will work fine with your mods. And yes, there is a map for 93. I don't know about the JDM versions being different however, you will have to confirm with John or Rich.

it actually dosnt mention what octane its tuned for, unless e85 specific, nor does it mention UDSM/JDM specific. I kind of expected someone from visconti to chime in, but good job being a typical forum guy and telling someone to read.

A typical forum guy would simply tell you to

I actually gave you some info directly from the tuner.

Here is another large thread of tuning info from Visconti

Sorry for trying to help.

im running drop in filter, stock header with aftermarket header back. i have stage 1 pump gas tune and the car feels good. you can ask for 98ron and that's what i'm running. our car (australia spec) should be similar to the Japanese spec.

Yep,

This is the latest. Bottom line is stock, top line is E85 tune.

This one was the 93 oct tune only.
