I get crickets on ultra94. Husky 91 silent. Recently saw an esso 93 near me, gonna try it out.

In for a gta cruise :-)

My 335i was direct inject, but the injectors ticked. This is more of a chirp or squeal, which sounds worse IMO. It sounds like a belt chirp.

No I didn't mean the John Deer tractor ticking sound although that's annoying as well.

I've heard of the high pressure fuel pump chirping sound with other modern DI cars but only with the hood opened. Only with the twins the sound can be heard with the windows down.

I refuse to put in Shell 91 or any 91 octane gas. I prefer to have crickets with Ultra 94, when my usual Esso 93 isn't available.

The manual clearly states that the recommended octane fuel is 93. and 91 is only to be used for emergency.

Agree. I used to use 91 til I noticed the performance gain with 94. It's barely a $2 difference in cost.
