OH, do you mean this thread is about chastising a mod because some people are banned and some are perma-banned and some should be banned?

Correct me if I am wrong. The motor would not have needed new internals if not for having to cope with 19PSI of boost.

I am not defending any shop that does incompetent work. I am just saying that if you choose to follow the FI path then you can expect it to be fraught with perils including people that do not know what the fuk they are doing.

It grenaded because of the work done not because of the boost.

Luckily there is a rule that forbids people having a few digs at a vendor, so irregardless of the wrong doing by the vendor which was the reason for the dispute in the first place, he was banned.
Yeap, it is literally as dirty as it gets.

I like and respect James, but too bad on that one.
Was he actually getting paid? Pretty sure he wasn't at first, then the forum decided he needs to pay to be a vendor.
Not sure if he did get paid after that, but if it happened, I can definitely see someone recouping payments to the forum for something he was never paid in the first place.

Is there any credence to their reputation at all in those "because TR3" statements though? As most of the parts delivered to almost all customers (except the special few) have been junk. And the level of work done to some of the tunes were worse than a guess and check style of tuning.

I dont know, for me, I would place a safe bet it was TR3 tuning error. Ill give them the benifit of the doubt they can put together a motor (even though frs300's was thrown into a blender then capped off as 'done') it might have been that the tune was for a certain PSI then he decided to be cocky and push and push and push till boom goes the dynomite...

Was he paying to be a sponsor of the site? Yes at one time. I have no idea if James was charging for services nor have I seen the offending content that resulted in his ban. I did see him talking about opening a shop, doing tunes, etc then it turned into actually doing tunes. Then the shop name came. It's not really our place to tell him to charge for tunes or not but one has to assume that he is, even if it's a 6 pack of beer that's still "payment".

Again though, I didn't see the posts/PMs that he was banned for either time. I didn't ban him.

Well the guy said installation error. Toni doesn't work at TR3, just rented the space/dyno. Being somewhat local I've seen TR3 stickered cars at the track a number of times and none have ever blown up so I don't actually believe that everything TR3 touches is shit. I wouldn't take the chance as there is way too much smoke around them that there is obviously some shit work for sure. However other shops that are still held in high regard have had built motors spin bearings too. And just because someone writes something on facebook doesn't actually make it true.

^^ none of that was in defense of Toni (who makes complete shit) or TR3 (which while separate has a lot of shit associated to them, most or all deserved). Unless we know the full story though there could be a lot more to this.

Fair enough you didn't ban him so this is just for discussion sake.

Yes, after he was banned the first time and that was how he was allowed back, by paying a vendor fee.

As for the pay by 6 pack, so people who help other people install stuff in their garage for a 6 pack or free dinner needs to pay for vendor fees on this forum? What do you want that person to pay this forum with? 1 bottle of beer per 6 pack? One mouthful of steak per dinner? I can find another person fairly easily that would fit the bill, see how inconsistent this is?

Not having a dig at you personally as you've actually been a lot better than other mods I've spoken to. The other ones I've spoken to kept on deleting comments/questions or just lock threads. I find the site rules are enforced inconsistently and some people just disregard integrity altogether and hide behind policies that does not take in consideration of the root cause of people's issues, which then happened to protect the wrong do-er.

It is almost as if a person is refused emergency treatment due to lack of funding and therefore personnel, the person is penalised irregardless of his condition. Only this is a forum, and all it takes is for someone to say yeah, he's got a point so no need to penalise someone just for being passionately upholding a strong sense of integrity and moral fibre.

Since this thread is now totally off topic. How long have the Google Ad Services been up? I just noticed because I am staring at a Local Ad for Eastern Shore Toyota telling me to go buy a Tundra with a Nationwide Lifetime Warranty. Makes me wonder if the site isn't getting enough money from vendors currently.
