Hey all, I read through the entire thread and ran my pop tune for a week. I was spitting flames and getting a few loud pops with tons of crackling. My setup was JDL UEL Catless Header, JDL OP, JDL Single resonated FP and Invidia N1 catback. The setup was incredibly loud!

Since then, I swapped in a dual resonated front pipe and an HKS Legamax Premium catback. I will be putting the pop tune back on this week to see how it sounds with the new exhaust setup.

Is it possible to set this up to also shoot when not driving around and without feathering the throttle?
Do i have to rescale and change the Base timing Idele (Neutral) tab?
Does this also work for the AT?

Please help me out, i really wanna be able to do the shoots easy when standing still.

Very similar to my configuration.. i also have a HKS uel header
not loud at all, but if you keep around -15/-9 (.15 & .20 of Load) of timing in the lower RPMs you can hear pretty solid pops and bangs

Thanks!

Thanks for all the information! It's nice to have a reference for how each parameter affects the sounds. I've haven't played with this much lately, but hopefully I'll have some time this weekend.

One other question; have you noticed any issues with a dull throttle pedal on these modified tunes? I had a intermittent problem where i would blip the throttle on a downshift and occasionally it wouldn't blip as high as normal...

Not a huge deal, since I really only run this tune for mild street driving, but just curious.

Thanks again for all the help!

Took the car for a drive today after making these changes. Once the car warms up, shifting (up and down) from higher up in the rpm band result in a gunshot like pop. Letting off the gas at high rpm results in a slightly less loud pop, while if you're below 3000 it's more of a burble. Not sure how long I'll keep this tune on the car as it'll definitely get you some attention.

My dashcam doesn't do it justice lol.

Here are all 5 tables that were mentioned, along with the definition file I'm using.
Did you get your file figured out? I was also Etuned with Shiv and my definitions look the same as yours. I can't find the tables everyone else has.

You rearly need to break out the hex editor and examine the calid strings in tune to find correct defs

and be very wary of any corrupt looking tables

Thanks. I do find it strange that the definition file I have been using to edit my tune has been working fine but does not have the same tables as others with a different calid. I will load another file with the same id to see if the additional tables show up but won't save any changes until I am sure everything looks good.

Just an example of my current settings for overrun, not too much has changed from my previous experiment, mind you im just starting playing with it again

First 3 tables are located in Fueling - Overrun Folder
- Overrun Initial Enrichment @ 1.2
- Fuel Cut Threshold @ 6000
- Overrun Enrichment Activation Delta @ -15
Last 2 Tables found in Ignition Timing - Advance Folder
- Rescaled the Base Timing Idle (In Gear Above Speed Threshold) table, like I mentioned before, my preference was for this to only start occurring when the engine was almost warmed up
- Raised the value in Base Timing Idle Vehicle Speed Threshold table, this helped quite a bit to avoid low speed jerkiness (10km/h because canada)

As mentioned before, may have to play with the amount of Overrun Enrichment and the values used to retard timing in the Base Timing Idle table, previous tunes were Stage 1 with Stock headers and catless overpipe, and with the stage 2 tune and no cats I have reduced Initial Enrichment from 2.8-1.8 to 1.2
Things acheived
- Lots of explosive crackles at high rpm lift,
- Crackles between shifts (with slight delay, seems to be more time related than rpm related, so OL/CL transition delay settings may potentially alter that)
- downshift bangs, lately they seem to be singular (only had this tune up again since last night) but theyre loud, though they are not rpm limited anymore, (never used to get them above 3krpm before)
- feathering popping/crackle, find that spot and it will pop endlessly, often on tip in there is a slight initial crackle, and if you have your cruise on going down hill your car will sound like automatic gunfire the whole way down 🙊 not sure if the tip in crackles can be gotten rid of, seems to be table switching delay so maybe messing with the OL/CL transition delays could reduce or eliminate that as well.

So, quick question for anyone who can help me out. If I was looking for a loud pop when downshifting / off throttle at high rpm, I would leave the timing in "Base Timing Idle" a negative value, such as -4°. Also if I wanted more of a burble from 2500 to 4500, I would put a positive timing number in such as +5°.

Is that correct?

Basically, I'm trying to keep the big pops/cracks for more spirited driving, while having tame burbles for daily driving. If that makes sense.

When editing rom's, I always use Steve99/Wayno's tool to check the correct CalId.

Romcheck
Unzip in a folder, put the rom inside the same folder and start the program, it will tell you the correct CalId. Match defs with the correct calId.

Use this definition, it's fully up-to-date A01G, modified for a 700C.

V4 OFT 700C Def

Use only with the V4 tunes! Remove any other 700C def you have in RomRaider!
