For you as a single buyer, it's not a selling point.

For Subaru, they might make 1000 of these cars and sell it as a "sports kit" and provide full factory warranty of 3 years, with the standard parts warranty of 1 year.

For the buyer, sometimes they want a "modded" car with no dealer hassles on the parts installed.

$7k for a sports kit makes zero sense to me as well, but to someone else it may be a worthwhile buy.

FWIW I have my complimentary oil change from Subaru, and I plan on not using any of them. To 90% of the forum, it's a great freebie. To me, it's an arbitrary schedule that I do not plan on using/following.

Yeah $8k crazy... I'm just hoping the STI rims will be avail via order from the local dealer without having to pay the current japanparts shipping costs.

They are not even 18" though. I was thinking if this package becomes available in US I would get the rims too, but now that they published they are 17" STI instead of the 18" BBS-STI rims that they initially showed last year, then it doesn't make too much sense to get them.

All in all the package is pure fail.

I would get the STI push to start and shift knob, but that's about it.

Yeah lets hope the dealers offer all the STI options once the STI parts are carried.

Checked these out a couple months ago. Subaru AU just picked a few parts out of the JDM STI catalogue.

The other model announced was the Possum Bourne Motorsport BRZ, it has some nice new parts that I'm hoping they will sell separately.

Love those wheels, both the gold ones and the black. Prices and weights?
