I have an idle log, but it's 0.2 mb too big for datazap. Short term fuel trims were around -16% but varied. Sent the idle log to my tuner (Delicious).
You didnt install something like a perrin intake or k&n filter, with an over-oiled air filter did you? No way PCV vapors are traveling backwards up the intake.

Are the pins in your connector secure? Unplugging and replugging may have been what solved the issue... just a thought.

Nah still stock. Need to get an air filter though. Was going to get a CAI and muffler if I'm still happy with the car overall in a few months. Do you still have your Perrin CAI and want to sell it?

That was one of my initial thought. The harness to the MAF is a bit tight, and the engine torquing on its mounts pulls on the airbox which is mounted to the chassis (another reason I want to move to CAI), so the engine could have been pulling on the connector enough to slightly unseat it or something. I fed it as much slack as I could when I re-installed the MAF. It ran fine for about 15 miles today, but I had to park it to travel for work and won't be able to mess with it again for a few more days.

Trade you your rich code for my lean code. I still can't figure out why I'm throwing P0171

Hi Gents,

Sorry to interrupt the flow.
I've posted a dyno chart in dedicated thread with graphs before, and after the installation.
It showed around 285HP/ 335Nm (247lb-ft) at the engine.
Stock exhaust and engine, on 102 RON fuel.
What do You think, optimistic, dyno cheat, or as expected?

Now only one thing is on my mind - forged con-rods and bearings, or not

What size pulley are you using? That sounds pretty good. Better than I expected for stock exhaust.

Both but mostly idle. I don't want to jinx it as I haven't taken a new ECU log yet, but I let it idle for about 5 minutes and did not get a CEL. I took the throttle body, intake tube and all vacuum lines off. Notice that the throttle body was fairly black underneath. Indication of oil blowby. Only had the charger on 10,000 miles or so. Surprised there was that much. Definitely need a catch can.

I cleaned the throttle body and put hose clamps on every vacuum line at both ends. Noticed my evap hose had not been fully seated. So far no CEL. I have a dedicated thread regarding my lean conditions. Will update it later once I make a determination.

Hi sly,

It was a default one that came with the kit. I belive it's 70mm.

I think it looks about right for flywheel hp and your mods.

Something I learned that others may disagree with, take it for what its worth... It's been said that a catch can is not needed with this kit. I ran a UPR can from my other vehicles. It caught a lot of oil. I can also 100% guarantee you that if you overfill this engine in the slightest it will push more oil than you can believe out the PCV... With a 1/2 a quart or less overfilled, running high rpms and boost at a track day, I completely filled the can. To the point it was sucking in into the intake and smoking badly. Once i fixed the oil level, never had the problem again. I was always EXTREMELY careful after that to not overfill, even in the slightest. Run a can and never overfill. My $.02.

I have the Forester OEM oil cooler installed and I had been adding about a couple ounces more of oil than what was recommended. Now that I think of the way it is designed, it probably doesn't need ANY extra oil. I may have been overfilling it and that may have caused the blowby. Thanks. I'll back off on the oil and get a can just to be sure.

Question is where to mount it. The fitted kits put the can at the back of the engine where my throttle body now is. I can't really put it near the battery because that's where the new coolant reservoir and pump are for the intercooler.
