Part out Scion FRS with Vortech supercharger?

Would it be easy to remove the supercharger and change it back to stock? Worth it?

I just removed my Vortech last week. It's pretty easy to uninstall. The hardest part was taking off the front bumper. lol

The only reason I returned my car to stock is bc I bought an Evo. That and I need to get my valve springs repaired.

If you have the parts then go back to stock and sell what you take off. You will make back at least a little of your money. Be lucky to make anything back on the built car.

What year on the Evo? Can you compare the Evo to your boosted 86? I'm looking at Evo's too.

Evo X. I love it. But I still love the FRS. They are completely different cars dynamically.

You need the intake assembly and the break booster vac hose(this is where the T is for the BOV). Also the PCV hose that's connected to be passenger side of the intake manifold at the back. You need to reinstall the stock MAP sensor. Also you need to change back to the stock idler pulley nearest to the blower. And just take off the bracket that tilted the alternator. I think that's it, there is nothing too crazy.

Be sure to to go back to stock injectors if you had larger injectors.

The X was the first Evo that they allowed to be sold in Canada and I almost pulled the trigger on a GSR about 3 times. That was back when I was driving almost 50K a year though so I could not justify the operating costs.

2013 Evo X. I can't really compare the evo to my SC FRS. Down low, the evo makes almost +200 ft-lb of torque and +100 ft-lb peak. So it puts you more in your seat. My top end in the frs was really good. But on E85 the safest you can run on stock internals is 320whp.

It's just a lot cheaper to tune and manage the Evo. Intake, Turbo back exhaust, 3 port boost controller, injectors, fuel pump and dual map tune on e85 will put you at ~380-390whp. I spent like $3.5k to get there. I spent almost $10k to make 312whp on the frs.

That and stock engine components are good to 500whp. And transmission is good to 800+whp for the manual. It's a very robustly built car.

Gas mileage is horrible on the car. lol The advertised 17/23 is very hard to obtain and the average readout I think likes to you. lol

But yeah, I think it handles better than the FRS. It's stupid quick at autocross. Mitsu did a good job with the S-AWC. The car rotates like crazy when you think it shouldn't.

That being said, the FRS is just so pure in the form it's in. Every time I hop back in, I just feel more connected to the road.

But I have more fun driving in the evo because everything about it feels so raw and to the point. It doesn't care about your comfort, only performance.
