Would putting something like 303 Aerospace on the seals prevent the window from sticking in cold weather?

If your window seals aren't already being pulled out of it's seat I highly recommend applying some sort of rubber conditioner monthly. Helps the window slide past with less resistance. I hate these seals haha it brings out my inner OCD |

This issue is a common occurrence and not only in the FR-S. My Cooper S had the same problem as well as my Dodge 2500. It becomes expected here in new Hampshire. Especially with the weather like last Sunday, rain and 40's then by early morning teens, frozen windows! Inconvenient but not the end of the world. Let the interior warm up and don't force the window. |

I found that holding the window up button on the driver window for several seconds is the fastest method. You can just skip the hold window down button altogether.

I've only had my FR-S 6 months and the window thing has happened to me 3 times, all on cold days. The service tech said I was the first complaint and just held the window buttons down until they reset. Two weeks ago, he did the same but admitted that they had another lady in that same morning with the same issue. I made an appointment to bring the car in today to be checked out. When I went this morning, he told me that Toyota issued a TSB on 1/9/14 about the windows. Seems there is something faulty afterall. They are ordering parts to fix the problem.

Stealership
I wish I checked here before going to the dealer. I also had a frost issue with windows. The dealer said it was not a warranty issue and wanted 55 bux. Such a simple fix.

Hopefully this will be my final post in regards to my window. The third party lubricant Toyota applied to my passenger window seems to have done the job. The window has worked in truely frigid temps (single-digits for days, etc.).
Thankfully, however, my Toyota dealership service center just called and told me Toyota finally has an official fix. They're going to replace the weather-stripping along the base of the windows and install more powerful window mechanisms that move the window up and down. As my dealership has been told, this apparently has worked seemlessly in all Toyota testing. Anyone who's car is still under warranty (or who wants to fight with Toyota to replace the parts at no cost), I would suggest asking for this fix. |

Bummer
Guess it's about time I join the club on this window issue. Tried the "hold-down to reset method", didn't work. Run out of time trying to figure this out but will try again later...
Here's the symptom: * Car was parked outside in the cold over night 15*-30*. It didn't get stuck on ice or anything since both windows are dry this morning. * The auto scroll up/down still work on both windows when opens/closes. * Can't use the master switch from driver to close/open passenger window. However, it still open/close normally from its switch. Auto up/down still working fine. * The "auto" (fully press/hold) no longer function for driver side. It still open/close just have to fully press/hold.

i feel like there are two problems here:
1. blinking lights on the window switches, no window function 2. lights on window switches don't work, switches do not work, auto up/down on door open features DO work i have problem #2 on my pass window. if anyone was wondering the low here is in the 50's. it's not freezing up. also the reset doesn't work for me. window tint has been on there for 2 years and this is the first time this has happened. off to the dealer. |
