Still kinda thinking about everything
If you're adding 5x114.3 conversion spacers, then those will add 15-25mm depending on the type you choose.

Let's say 25mm spacers (most common), then your effective offset will be +27. You will have poke unless you gain extra negative camber, somewhere around -3 or more.

You can use smaller conversion spacers like 15mm as you stated but make sure the wheels you are fitting have voids to let the rest of the OEM studs poke through (see pic below to explain what I mean). This would give you effective offset of +37 which is just about perfect. With this setup a 245/40R17 will work very well.

SSR GTV02 18x9.5 +40 square setup lowered on fortune auto coils.

What kind of tire size you think is appropriate? I was looking at 255/35. What would you recommend?

I assume the rear will be fine, how would the front be?

I currently have Tein S-tech lowering springs on the car
Im unsure if the wheels will fit in the front just because of the width?
Thanks for any help!
Any input??

looking at Kojin's, 8.5 18's with a +45 with a 245/35 tire setup work? I believe I will need spacers for the fronts (5mm)? Lowered on TRD springs

Thanks, Beach

Sorry man, missed responding to your post.

Firstly, what camber settings are you at?

With just lowering springs, these wheels will be a no go, you need coilovers.
I'm on 18x9 +35 on springs and I have only about 4-5mm clearance to the strut spring seat on -2.2 camber. You will be closer by 9mm hence the extra clearance by going on coilovers. As you stated, rears are probably okay but fronts are the issue.

Wheels and tire selection are good. Should be fine with a 255/35R18, could even go to a 265.

Awesome man, thanks for your help. I ordered 255/35.

Any camber bolts used?
You may need spacers, might not, depends on your camber. 5mm spacers are cheap, so buy them just in case.

245/35 is a perfect tire size for an 8.5" wheel.

Not sure on the camber bolts as I had the dealer install everything. But I will buy the spacers just in case.

I really appreciate your feedback!!

Damn I just have the Tein S-tech Springs which lower the car 1.4 inches in the front and 1.2 inchs in the back so I have to have coilovers for them fit? Is the issue for them to be hitting the suspension or?? Because there was another thread on here with a dude who had Rota Torques 18x9.5 on front and rear he had coilovers but they didn't look like they had that much more camber than the natural camber from just putting the lower springs, on the wheels just seemed to stick out a bit http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15097
I am just wondering if they wont fit at all or if they will just stick out? I really love the look of the D2Ex's but I am not ready to throw 1600 on decent coilovers
Thanks for being patient with a new car enthusiast

Yep, the wheels will hit the spring perch of the struts. With a coilover, that perch is gone and the springs are much smaller, giving extra inside clearance.

Saw that thread and the natural camber from his 2" drop is probably around 2+ degrees. He has clearance inside, just not outside. And he was still running a 225 wide tire up front to avoid rubbing the outer fender. No ways would you fit a 265 up front with that combo.

They won't fit. If you were stock they might, but would stick out a shit-ton, and you'd have to run a skinny tire anyways. You could add a 5mm spacer and they "might" fit, but then, you'll have more issues with the fenders.

Your best bet for a wide wheel is a 18x9 +35. You can run this setup with springs and no one will notice the extra 1/2". And you could easily run a 245, even a 255/35 with the right camber.

Or buy coilovers.

Thanks yea I honestly don't really want to run the 18x9.5s but the only problem is those wheels only come in 18x9.5 or 18x10 is why i was asking..
So for the 5mm spacers are you referring to the stock springs or with the tein springs? and if so is the problem with clearing the fenders when turning the wheels?

Alright this is my last post! I apologize, so i found a set of the wheels 18x8 +48mm 56.1 so with my S-Techs these should fit with no problems correct? Any tire size suggestions?

Hello everyone, I am looking to get a new set of wheels & tires (choices tbd later, right now I'm looking for measurements and sizing) for my boosted set up (going for ~300 whp & lowered 1")
My main use cases are:
Streets & AutoX
Requirements:
lighter wheels - function > form, though looking good is a definite plus.
Perfect Flush
Square Set up

My option:
Looking at 18x8.5 with 245/40, offset: +42 Front, +32 Rear, no Camber

Taken this from the Wheels Directory post Darren started but I am wondering if the offsets are a bit too much for the front?
Also I am wondering if that tire is too skinny for the power I am putting down. I don't want to kill gas mileage as well.

Any sort of suggestions?
