Any more cool stuff?

All,

As deliveries take place, could we have a discussion regarding any special things that were done or any prizes that were given upon delivery? I'm sure many dealerships will choose to do different things, but it might just be fun to hear about what was done.

I suppose I am just curious and somewhat excited.

Thanks,

Davyator

Make sure that the lifetime free car wash doesn't include lifetime free swirl marks. I tend to shy away from automatic car washes, and if it's free, I can almost guarantee it's not a hand wash.

Lucky you then! I'd probably still wash my car myself, but that's due to my nature as a perfectionist.

Is that it?

Fellow First 86'ers,

Is that it?

Who else has taken delivery of their vehicle?

What kind of party is being thrown? What additional offerings have you received? Please let us know with each delivery so we can gauge what to expect.

Thanks,

Davyator

I'll give you my impression. The further you get from Scion Central in CA the less enthusiastic the dealers seem to be and the less they seem to know about the whole thing. Some of them really seem to just see it as another sale, and a "captive audience" opportunity to milk a little more money out of a sale they never really had to work to make.

Yes, that's a huge generalization, but its based on the feedback I'm seeing here on these forums.

I would love for somebody (or some dealer) to prove me wrong. Mine is actually trying a little more now than they were, but it's definitely not CA quality excitement. Maybe they are planning on surprising me, in which case MY BAD and I'll happily admit I was wrong.

Haven't recieved mine yet but they say that they want to do a scion event after they get their hands on a fr-s. That wouldn't include mine because they don't think that I wouldn't appreciate snot nosed kids jumping on the car, placing boogers on the dash, and the blue hair mafia shitting on the seats. But they def. want to work with me on something.

Amen. I'll never own another black car. As much as I fall in love with it over and over again after a healthy claybar & waxing, it looks horrible most of the time. I'm leaning towards white or silver for my FRS.

Definitely concur. Granted, it seems that most things are like that here on the east coast.

Game / Car launches, etc....all seem pretty unenthusiastic.

What my dealership is doing...

My dealership apparently had 2 events planned. They had my First86 event on Tuesday next week and a different FR-S Reveal planned for Thursday of the same week. They asked me if they could combine the events into one, and I was cool with that. I heard that they are planning to have some HPI Racing cars with a drifting rug setup so people could drift some HPI racing cars. That should be fun for my teenagers. And, most everything else is a secret. I'm still looking forward to it, though.

No word on anything from my dealer other than the May 12th delivery date. They know nothing about the car, and were completely unfamiliar with the program other than getting an email one day that I was getting a car. All they want to talk about is financing and trades :/

My sales guy told me I was going to get a hat and shirt, and a $200 gas card, I haven't heard anything else. He also tried to low ball me on the tC I am trading in but if you make enough noise in the show room they reconsider their offer.
