At least the belt buckle on the driver side has a relatively long cable with a plug attached to it (which also plugs to a cable underneath the carpet).

Back to topic:
I have a Recaro Pole Position seat and initially purchased the buddy club rails to mount it and was driving around with it for a few months (seat is not ideal when wearing a helmet).
I've meanwhile decided to get rid of those rails because they have too much play and are kind of noisy (I don't recommend them).

I have since purchased the planted seat base and want to fix the seat directly onto the seat base with the side brackets (so I won't have any play for sure). This seat base is sort of serving its purpose but it is far too heavy (>8 lbs) and it also and unnecessarily covers the screw holes in the front (I'm less than 6 feet tall, so maybe they had a 4 foot tall person in mind which weighs 800 lbs when they designed this seat base).
So I cut off some of the excess plate material using a cutting wheel and will still have to drill additional holes since I won't get the side brackets far back enough (the base plate should already come with plenty of holes in the first place - beside being more installer friendly this would also mitigate the issue with all that unnecessary weight).

The chassis as well as the seat with brackets are already sturdy. There is no reason to have a flat interconnection (seat base) which weighs almost as much as the much larger seat. (Hey, why even install a lightweight seat in the first place?)

It worked for me, just taped it up and been fine for a few months, did it not work for you?

They are Bride rails, not sure of the model. I just called Touge Factory and asked them to provide a rail for my specific seat. Fitment is perfect, no issues.

Recaro Sportster CS

Probably should have posted these in November when I installed them. Recaro Sportster CS's in black leather and alcantara with airbags. These are the OEM equipment from the Japanese STI TS model complete with genuine recaro rails. I just had them finished in black without the STI logo as I have a Toyota and not a BRZ.
Oh and Takata 4 point harness with TrackArt harness bar.
