I may or may not have pulled off the line a bit quicker than normal due to a candy blue XKR-S being right next to me at the stoplight.

In my defense, it was to hide my jealousy.

Then I was flanked by an older Corvette and the XKR-S. Saw a Cayenne and a Focus ST a few cars ahead. It was a fun drive to the store.

Filled it with gas and got berated for 5 minutes by some old guy (yes, old even to me) for driving such an "obviously special and very expensive car" in the snow!
He then climbed into his Benz S sedan and drove away.

Funny, but you still should store that shit.

Intake and front license plate

Today's updates:

Installed the front license plate with a Grimmspeed tow hook mount. I've been to too many places looking for a grommet that will fit so I finally ordered one from cableorganizer.com . Shipping wasn't too bad. Better than driving around town.

I figured I had better install the front plate before I get a ticket so for now the tow hook cover is off waiting for the grommet to arrive.

I've also been all over town looking for a nut with the correct thread so I can adjust my Flossy Grip Tape Shorty so the etching fits the right direction. Shipping for the one I've found so far is about $6 so I thought I'd keep looking. Any tips on where to find one? M12 x 1.25, preferably pretty thin.

Also dropped in a K and N and a Perrin silicone intake tube. I won't mind if the cabin noise drops a bit. :-)

All for now.

LD

No point in it in my case. I put 6000 - 7000 kms a month on it so maintaining value isn't a factor for me as it will be worth little anyway by the time I am ready to change. Drove all my Mitsus through many winters and they all still looked great so I expect no less from the FRS. I did consider a beater but could not risk reliability issues when driving 3 hours to my one plant twice a week (on the 401 at that)
As much as I love it, it is still just a car and not an expensive one at that. It will be my DD until something newer and shinier comes along and then I will get rid of it and move on.
No garage queens for me.

Because I can. I drive an Acura TL during the winter. Can't complain!

In my opinion, there's no reason to drive my frs through snow and salt for "fun". I have a lot more fun with my car in the summer. In any case, I have other hobbies during the winter

First bolded : What ..

Second bolded: Baller. I don't think 30k is inexpensive lol. This is my first brand new car, so I do want to take care of it. I also did store my old car, so I guess I'm just used to it.

Put Motul RBF 600 in, and got an alignment after gruelingly installing the tein springs. All good now!

Also:

There's apparently some local kids that hoon around Malibu and the Palisades in wrx sti's that I've been running into more and more.... I've been getting looks. I did get repeatedly harassed by a G35 in my neighborhood who proceeded to pass me in the oncoming lane at a red light.

My neighborhood is the worst. Also, I've never encountered a G35 driven by someone under 30 that wasn't seemingly being driven by drunk Michael Schumacher

Yep. Live in London. Work in Woodstock and Windsor and have to drive to a plant in Ohio on a fairly regular basis. It adds up fast!

This is my 6th new car and if you count the ones my wife has had the 13th new one for the family, so the whole new car thing wore off decades ago.

It most certainly is an inexpensive car when compared to many others out there. I guess it is also a matter of perspective. My mileage allowance alone could pay for most of one in a year without even touching my paycheck. This was one of the main factors I considered when I bought it as I knew I would pile on the mileage.

Could I afford a Porsche or Lexus? Most certainly, but would not want to rack up the miles I do and destroy it's value. Besides I like the FRS better anyway. When I take a rock hit on the highway I throw some touchup paint on it and walk away happy but this would not be the case with something more expensive.

Now, this does not mean I abuse the car. Had it since August and have changed the oil 3 times already. Also, have an unlimited wash pass at a local no touch wash and will run it through there every other day or so through the winter. It will be the cleanest car on the road all winter.

loved them- too close to give much feedback but man the car feels alive in the upper RPMs and on takeoffs. NVH increased, clunks increased, seems to be usual
