It will be made using tech from the LFA, perhaps even using a derivative engine based on the LFA in a front engine format. Expect an advanced paddle shift gearbox, possibly something along the lines of the IS-F.

I hope they do release it soon and I do hope they release it at about $70-$80k to make the car a little more accessible but not so much it becomes the next 370Z which I see everywhere. People forget that the Supra became a marquee car for Toyota...it's halo car if you will. They were pretty expensive back in the day...you could buy a Porsche 911 for about the same price back when they were new. Just because you can buy a 1995 MkIV TT with more than 100k miles on it for less than $30k doesn't mean the new one is gonna be anywhere near that price.

The LFA is old news, it was a neat exercise to prove Japan has what it takes to build a supercar, but it kinda fell flat on its face when compared to cars that were less expensive than it...and I don't see Toyota refreshing the LFA with a new version of it.

it was a joke, we know because of inflation it will be slotted between a 370z competitor and a GTR competitor...

LOL... Bizaro world indeed my friend!

News flash everybody... Besides the title of the article saying this... This is a GT86 Gazoo Racing concept. NOT a Supra concept.

Yes, this taillight looks so much nicer than the Z4 style.

This will be very disappointing if this will be the new variation of the Supra. I was really hoping for a 6-cylinder variant. I used to love how easy it was to get power out of the old Supra. I miss mine. If they throw a 4 banger in it though it may be difficult to make the purchase.

HMM... looks smexy. If this hits the dealerships, I dont care what the call it, buying for sure.

I'm pretty sure this is the new Supra. Based on the 86 chassis.

I just wished they put in an H6... :sadpanda:

no one is saying this is the supra, we just implied that the head lights and tail lights were a publicity stunt because they KNEW we would make the connection and the feedback on the design will be part of the finalization of a finished PART of the new supra, and all of this is theory at best.

the supra will always be a 6 cylinder car, if they put a 4 cylinder engine in it, the supra name will die and they know that

I didn't actually read through the forum so I didn't know others were implying this as well. I do like the look in the few pictures I saw though.

It had better have 6 cylinders too! It's just going to be incredibly difficult to compete with the old 2JZ setup. I ran just under 700whp and there were people who had double what I was running. ^_^

I honestly would not be surprised if they did release a 4 banger version though. With the insanely strict fuel regulations that are coming up pretty quickly, we are probably going to see a lot of cars start getting smaller engines that we never though would happen.

Sweet mother of God this is looking awesome.

Almost makes all the condescension and subtle animosity throughout the thread negligible.
