It's not a matter of being good or not, it just makes life a lot simpler when having to mount the fans and overflow bottle. I do not like the idea of connecting the fans directly to the rad. JDL provides you with washers for aftermarket radiators if needed, you will be all set with whatever radiator you choose.

That's fair. I'll probably pick one up come spring when I'm preparing to install the turbo.

Sorry, I thought y'all provided another option as I saw this pic with the CAI and washer. Was wondering if it was a smaller filter or something.

For anyone contemplating the shroud, it's worth getting and made very very well. I originally had the slim fans zip tied to my rad. After many miles and vibration they managed to wear through one of the fins on the rad. Good thing I was going to get an upgrade anyway aha

Got my JDL Kit running this weekend
UEL
GTX
Delicious Flash and Go Tuned
CAI
Radiator shroud ( I stopped my build to get this in)
ID1000
Thanks to some kind folks here on the forum for taking the time to reply to my PMs @yomnyfor the build pointers @xxscaxx for the injector spacer tip and @sales@delicioustuning.com really helpful guy, quick email response.

Early photo of the install before the Intake system

Fabricating a 3" OP on a RHD is difficult with the steering rack in the way, but my guy got it done.
