Here's a video clip taken on Sunday during the Michelin Cup.

I only did 4 timed laps because I was hungover, tired and sore, but this is the lap that they recorded as my best.
According to my non-hi-tech elec stuff it was 0.2 secs slower than the previous lap - whatever...
Their time was 2m21.263 so I guess that's gospel

It's 0.5 secs faster than the best lap I did on the Pets day when I went out on my own for a quick squirt in the late afternoon.

Sadly, the link from the ELM dongle didn't work, so the speedo's a bit wonk at times because it's GPS speedo.
Especially at the very mega sharp turn 6 where it thought I was still going, but I was actually coming.
Maybe I should reword that...

What a fun day out on track . Thanks to all !
Very special thanks to Sir Andy Maclaurin (aka Fish Eagle)who gave me a slightly used set of rear pads for the michelincup on sunday. After I cooked the old one's on the last session of P4P on saturday. A True 86 enthusiast and now a friend.

Well done!! and well done StigWorx!!
Stigworx definitely works! Being able to look at a map of the track with my lines plotted against the correct lines is a huge help and very quickly identifies the areas where things can be improved. At Redstar especially where some of the lines aren't obvious this is a massive help. The telemetry also shows the braking points very clearly, my mistake initially was going in too hot and having to brake sharply, giving big spiky troughs on the graph against the much smoother base lap. Again very quickly identifies where to change things. So once all that was sorted and I'd learnt the track a bit better and gained a bit of "confidence" I posted a respectable time.
Jacques main concern was that nobody would believe a 26 second improvement over 4 sessions, but that's what it was

Stigworx can only show you the door, but you must walk through it. So at the end of the day it was still YOUR DRIVING that improved, well done!!

Went through GoPro footage and cut out the following out of Group A - Session 1

Although there was traffic and rain, I must say...for me...it made it more fun.

Cannot really see much on track with the poor lighting, but you can hear some lovely flatfoot shifting

^ yup, the GoPro has an exposure compensation setting, but it's a bit hard to fiddle with that once you're on track. I actually forgot the start recording when I took my mom around, even though the camera was mounted *sigh*

Here are 2 videos of different laps that I cut from all my footage. Passengers make for good g-indicators :P

And as a bonus, here is me planning a sneaky show-off drift and ending up backwards instead. Smoooooth :P

I worked out this was on my 43rd lap on Saturday.
You'd think I'd have my braking point worked out by then

86 vs Evo in the wet.

Need big hp? Need AWD? Why?
Watch how he disappears into the distance down the straights, and how easily I reel him in under braking and cornering
Coz 86s do corners

I had a hot laps passenger on board, so my nannies were on. Mine aren't intrusive for oversteer - I actually have to get quite violent and get a substantial slip angle before they kick in. But with understeer (which is what my car does a lot in the wet), they're a PITA because they kick in unnecessarily and far too early. You'll hear and see them working occasionally.

Proves what you were saying before, Andy, that Red Star is a much more forgiving track than the likes of Zwartkops.

Absolutely, that's why I like Red Star, and I have the confidence to push it there.

I reckon that I was about 20m late on my braking, and would only just not have made the turn if I'd turned in aggressively.
When I saw that I'd overcooked it, I eased off on the brakes and chose my "off" spot.

My quick sums say, at 165kph, that's 0.4 second late.
Doesn't take a lot of distraction or misjudgement for that to happen.

Compare this mistake video to about 1m07 into my hot lap video in post #113.
Don't judge it by the sound of the lift, rather try to spot when the bonnet dips.
