How long does a bottle of nitrous even last? I feel like I would end up spending all that money, use it once, then be out.

A 100 shot or 1.00 lbs shot is one pound the bottle holds 10 pounds. On most v8 cars that is a 10 second blast way to much for our cars in my opinion. I would go about half that with our cars. In reality with a 100 shot you are going to get 3 to 4 good passes and 3 or 4 weak passes on the bottle. And the last 2 or 3 passes are not going to be nearly as good as the first few unless you heat the bottle.

Then you get it refilled lol. I had a buddy use it successfully many years ago on a Tiburon for all the years he had the car without blowing anything up. I have no idea what current prices are but in 2005ish I think it was somewhere close to $40 to re-fil 10lbs I think. I imagine its possibly much higher now, the prices were going up quickly.

He ran a 75shot and you may get I dunno 10 good runs out of it with a bottle warmer, can't really remember. Its not a lot.

I think the drive by wire systems will be the best for our cars. There is no red button it is all hooked to the gas pedal. When you floor it a small amount of nitrous is introduced with a fogger system. This is the setup most road course and drift cars use that run it. Again I only know of a few clubs that still allow it to be used during their events. The scca strictly forbids it and so does nasa (last time I checked).

Just wanted to chime in here... I purchased the kit from the N/X test car after his car blew. Several months later I installed an FX400 8-puck clutch and hooked up the kit along with an MSD RPM window switch and an electric pressure gauge for the dash. As well as a wideband A/F meter. I have gone through 3 bottles so far with a ~75hp shot with no issues at all. Even with my car having over 45k miles on it. I'll eventually push the kit to its maximum after I purchase a stand alone fuel system and some colder plugs. I'm a touch worried about running more than a 75hp shot with the stock fuel system since the car can roughly handle 250whp on the stock fuel system. (The guy i bought the kit from said it made ~250whp/250wtq on the 100 shot) After I have everything where I feel comfortable to share with everyone I'll find a dyno and post a full install w/ dyno plots for 50hp-150hp shots in 25hp increments. Also would like to add that as of right now my car makes most mustangs and camaros cry down in Mexico...

Edit: Also should note that kit was installed at roughly 30k miles and I daily drive 75 miles each way to work.

first off.. tl;dr

most people are scared of nitrous because they are too dumb to tune the car for it. people think lean wipes out motors so they jet the kits rich... rich wipes out a nitrous motor well before lean will.. its too much timing that kills them usually. I just dont want to spend 60 bucks every week or two. i'd rather have a blower since it'd cost me about 1200 to do a nitrous kit like i would want... and THEN get it tuned.

That is incorrect. You can safely go up to 300-320 whp on pump gas.

This may be true, but since the wet kit pulls straight from the fuel rail supply I'm not comfortable with the pressure drop and load that puts on the pump.

Less than a quarter mile even if you have two of the big bottles. Hence the too soon junior line.

Funny that you ask being from Orlando. @jamesm tuned one successfully right there in your hometown.

Wait, what? Less than a quarter of a mile? I ran a 200 shot on my Mustang and could get 5 or so(depending on ambient air temp) passes before the bottle pressure started dropping and I had to kick on the bottle warmer. That was with a 10lb. bottle
