One last question, I am completely stock, but want to run an e85 map.

Even tho stage 2 is designed for catless aftermarket headers, can i still run the stage 2 EL e85 map?
It has been shown that the EL e85 Stage 2 2 is safe with stock headers. I am running that way now.

Is the main difference between Stg 1 and Stg 2 specific to stock vs. aftermarket or catted vs. catless? Speaking specifically about the FT86SF UEL header, would the Stg 2 tune run any different between the catted and catless version?

Looking at the WOT pulls the AFRs look good and the IAM is steady at 1. I'm guessing you stopped the pulls early for safety? Have you looked at the map to see what you're actually targeting?

I asked Perrin directly for MAF tables for their small intake, and they delivered!

Here you guys go: 2.75" PERRIN intake MAF sensor scaling.

Now that we've got this, is it easy to integrate the values into a ROM? I'd appreciate if someone could write up a quick DIY or provide a link that doesn't confuse the issue with a whole custom scaling.

Having received my OFT, installing software and reading my cars ROM. Since I won't get her out of garage yet, I was poking around in my Original.bin, found that I could compare .bin's and loaded the OTS stock bin. After running the comparison tool there seemed to be quite a bit of difference between the two bin files. Would I be correct to think that this wouldn't be caused by the transmission (MT vs. AT)?

Did original.bin and your comparison .bin file share the same Cal ID (i.e., ZA1JA01C)? If so you will see quite a few differences due to tuning changes. If they did not share the same ID, there will be many more differences since map locations (among other things) will be at different address locations.

If you are looking at the .bin file in a hex viewer you can see Cal ID (text format) at 0x8000.

Cheers,
Shiv

Just got mine today.. amazing!

I noticed the stock ROM calibration code was 00C and then it installed a 01C ROM.. is this ok?

After I noticed and drove for a bit.. I got home and downloaded the new 1.58 ROMS and took the 00C ROM and flashed that. I also did 1 tweak and set LC to 3600 RPM down from 5600 RPM).

The cold start and idle corrections are amazing!

What is the difference between the versions?

It's fine. C denotes the type of ROM which is specific the ECU. The rest are release versions. A01 is one of the more recent.
IIRC: 700 > A00 > A01 > B01

So long as you're on A01 or B01 then you're on the latest ones.

@phrosty have you opened the MAF scaling map in RomRaider? As it's only a 2D map, I bet you'll work out how to import it. You should be able to C&P direct from excel etc

So what are the main benefits or drawbacks of using a B rom over an A rom.. any difference?

Yes, they had the same ID. Am being very careful about my forward progression. I'd like to do some data logging before I change anything about the way she is tuned. Waiting for the snow to go.

Make sure you have a copy of your original (unedited) ROM in case of problems

1. Open up your tune ROM in Romraider
2.select "intermediate" or above user level
3. select "mass air flow/engine load" folder on left hand side
4. select "MAF sensor scaling" table
5. copy in the volts and air flow values in as supplied by perrin
6. save
7. flash

Log and test

Question: does it matter if I use 92 octane on the oft300 93 octane tune. We don't always have 93 octane in my area it depends on the station.

I'd assume that the map isn't running on the ragged edge of knock on 93 so it's probably fine. Just keep the OFT in view with knock related parameters including IAM to know that the car is running ok.
