Just a quick update for readers with my setup or similar i guess

2013 subaru brz sport/tech (canadian spec limited) with

Aem intake
Magnaflow catback
94 octane fuel

I went ahead and loaded map 2 with the "aem intake (no maf calibr) with any catback octane 92 (Fuel out/ timing in) " and eather im going nuts or theres a difference of night and day here i am deep in my seat from way low 2500-3000 rpm mark its anawesome feeling and i might have just completly erased the idea if boost from my head.

Can someone explain the differences in the map choices of timing in/out and fuel in/out?

I have a Injen CAI and a Berk dual exit muffler delete running 91 octane. Which would be the best performance map I should be using?

Preview DJ Joee… they aren’t our maps so we have no control. I’d suggest sending a couple of maps to Tony at UnichipWholesale (just drag the Hex files to your desktop and then attach them to the email) and asking him to update them for LC. I’m sure he’ll be happy to do that for you.

davidchoi… “Out” means less of "that" and “In” means more. Timing In – or T+ - means a little more ignition timing in that map than in the Timing Standard (T~) map while Timing Out means a little less. Same idea for fuel.

Start with the Fuel Standard Timing/Standard map and get a feel for the change. Then change fuel and see whether your car likes a little less or a little more. Then do the same with fuel once you settle on a fuel map.

Remember that Fuel Out and Timing In are more aggressive, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s what will make more power in your specific car.

Cheers

It's a great product really.. I love mine. I am selling but only because I have become mod crazy!! I am going for a complete, tuned flash. One aspect of this new tune that I am nervous about is that its easier for the dealer to detect. I can't think of a way that a dealer can detect a unichip. I have hear people say that they can look at the connectors under the hood but really??
I am selling my chip but yet, hear I am promoting it. If your warranty and wallet of dire importance to you then this is the chip for you.
Jack at Unichip is extremely helpful if you have not already noticed.

Your FRS map database is messed up for 92 octane. In there are the new maps for 87, 89 and 92 Oct, all next to the 92 Oct maps.

All three folders need to be pulled up one level to fan out and overlay all the octane maps you have, then you need to re-zip up a master file.

Understand me? If not PM me.

Yeah I noticed that too. I ended up just pulling the most updated map folders.

Guys, thanks for the head's up. Looks like a couple of users were inadvertently granted upload permission. Those have been removed and the folders have been returned to their original form.

Please let me know if anybody has any other questions or issues and we'll be happy to get to work on it.

Cheers

I have just installed my Unichip.
Do you think the stock Map from Unichip (no mods) using High Octane rate will fit for Octane 95 or should I use the mid-range Octane map?

Guys, remember octane ratings in the US and Canada are calculated differently than those in most other countries.

A "given" fuel inside the US and Canada will have an octane rating of ~ 3 points lower than identical fuel in another country.

95 outside the US is the same fuel as 92 inside the US, 92 outside the US is the same as 89 inside the US, etc...

Cheers

Thank you Jack, the map for 92 octane is working like a charm.
It is a real pleasure to ride with this map

Does the ECU need time to relearn adjustments after switching to a new map as if you just reset it?

I dont believe a piggy back tune like unichip does. Its not actually changing the data. Its intercepting the signal coming out
