Awesome!!! Thanks for pulling through, even though it took a while.

Not really sure if you guys runs baselines, etc, before every tune... Were there any dyno numbers or estimated gains for the FA20club tune?

FA20 Club CAI...

... the tuner says he's finished and we just need to drive around for a day or so for final checks. That should be complete tomorrow afternoon and then we'll get the data double checked and post it to the library.

Thanks for your patience!

Cheers

@Unichip Jack, Suggestion, drive around with the AC on, make sure the idle dose not stay high (1000 RPM or more)........if you monitor TPS with the flex and the AC is on it should stay at or below 15-16% at idle, AC off is around 14-15%.

If the idle dose go high with the AC on you can get it back to normal by turning the AC off for a few seconds........then back on and it should stay good.

Personally I think it has to do with the stock tune over compensating for the AC on (adjust to a higher idle to run the compressor), but if you are adding more TPS with the UniChip data you may be adding to much........

Keep in mind I have been using the Perrin CAI / catback tune with a "FA20Club CAI" and catback...........

I'm uding 93 octane and have tried the appropriate 'all header/all cat-back/all drop-in tunes with fuel+ and fuel-. I've also tried advancing the timing on these. I tired timing- for one run, but I'm not getting anywhere.

I notice very little difference between the tunes. They all seem to run rather well at first, but after a couple hours of driving I start having a rough idle, some hesitation when I hit the gas and an inconsistent engine running up the RPMs.

I had things working well before I added the header, but now....??? Help!
Is this what everyone should expect to experience when upgrading to a header while using a Unichip or is this an isolated problem? Does anyone else run a head with the unichip without a problem?

No, you needed to read more.......

It's not even really the header per se, if you use the same header with a cat (with a stock front pipe cat) you won’t have a problem. That’s why the header companies recommend you keep the cat.

Unfortunately, when you delete one or both cats, the OEM ECU quickly declares a cat efficiency fault (which all street legal vehicles must do) that results in a CEL and poor performance on some vehicles.

Beyond the timing and fueling changes for a header with cat, what the “no cat tune” does is turn off the cat code. Only problem is that’s completely illegal and what cost Edge Products better than 7-figures in fines and penalties… http://www.dieselnet.com/news/2013/01epa.php.

If you use an O2 spacer or spark plug non-fouler on the downstream O2 sensor port, you’ll avoid the fault code and should be golden.

IceFyre13th... thanks for the post and observation. As you surmise, that TPS change is from the OE computer, not from the Unichip.

The FA20Club map is done an in final checks to be added to the data base. It should be done by tomorrow evening... sorry it was a long wait.

A couple of guys have pointed out that the K&N maps have vanished from the data base... it appears the file got corrupted at some point. They will be there when the file is updated with the FA20Club maps.

Cheers

Seems there are a few issues with the factory ECU "tune" that Toyota / Subaru need to iron out still, wonder if the dealer could flash me the latest one? Assuming there is a newer one.

Thanks for getting the FA20Club tune out, gives me something to play with this weekend!!!
