Maybe I did, but it's not all that hard to write 6MT or manual. You're taking this far too seriously. It's not a personal attack, just a suggestion that you be more specific.

To address the OP's question, I would suspect that it would certainly be possible, but bear in mind that the shifter only works in pure manual (M) mode, where the paddle shifters can be used to take temporary control in drive (D) as well. You'll lose this functionality by disconnecting them.
