suspensions noise after spring instal UPLOADED VIDEO

I have searched through about 5 pages of "clunking, random suspension noises" and have yet to find anything dealing with what I have going on.

Long story short, Installed Sportlines. When taking off from about 6-7mph to 12-13mph I hear a tinging noise. If I stay consistently inbetween those speeds I hear ting ting ting. It sounds like metal on metal.

I re-tightened all bolts to spec, jacked the car up and the wheels spin freely without any noise. Put the car back on the ground, left it in gear(so it wont move too far...) and moved the car forward and backwards and I could slightly hear it when all the way forward and the spring compressed slightly.

Any input or knowledge will be appreciated greatly!

A few possibilities...

Are ALL the bolts tight? Sway bar endlinks, control arm bolts, etc?

Did you reassemble the struts/shocks correctly? The fronts have to be assembled carefully to get the upper spring seat on the strut shaft correctly. If it's not on properly when you tighten the upper nut it can move around and make noise.

Are your swaybar endlinks hitting the control arm?

It's not just the springs that have to be seated correctly, the upper spring seat on the front has to be seated on the strut shaft correctly as well. It's really easy to put it together not seated, even with the spring seated properly in the upper seat.

The strut shaft is stepped, and the upper spring seat has to fit onto the stepped part properly to work right.

What method did you use to remove the upper strut hat?

Is your dust shield hitting the rotor? I somehow managed to bend mine to where it made contact with the rotor when I installed my coilovers. It made a terrible metal on metal sound until I bent it back.

This also sounds like symptoms of an impending CV failure...

just an update. went back through everything today. took the rear shocks out and put them back in, made sure everything was seated correctly. torqued everything to spec. still making that noise. I can hear the noise is coming from the right rear. Still only from about 7mph to 12-13. I also checked the dust shield was bent. that part is fine

Mine did that after spring install, went away soon as I tightened everything some more when it was under load
