Virtual racers: Photos of your gaming cockpits.

Every once in a while I like to do some virtual racing on iRacing or GT6. I have never been much of a console gamer so I suck at using the controllers. Plus I want more immersion. Here is a couple pictures of my home built rig.

Features include:
Fully adjustable cloth racing seat
G27 wheels and inverted pedals
27" monitor
Inclined mounting surface for proper steering wheel angle

Total cost was about $130 plus monitor, G27, PS3 and dedicated computer.

Anyone else got one to show?

Here is my old set-up, put it together with shit I had lying around...and duct tape. It did the job. I sat on my ottoman, it was the perfect height. I don't have a wheel for the Xbone.

Pretty creative rig. Ever thinking about wrapping those 2x4 in some cf-vinyl or something?

Damn, you guys are hardcore. I recently realized I suck at racing games. Got a XBox one last week, bought Forza 5 just to find out that I can't even keep the car in a straight line. I'm more of a FPS guy, last racing game I played was Mario Carts lol. I do wanna get better at it though.

Are you using the controler? I could never use the controller, couldn't play most games especially FPS. Got the basic wheel and it was so much more fun! The brake pedal has no authenticity but you can modulate the throttle and the steering has some amount of "feel" however artificial. Try it

Yea using the controller. It's especially aggravating knowing that I'll do so much better in person. I got a BRZ in Forza 5, made it almost identical to the one I have on my driveway, but I can't drive it for shit....lol.

I got an upgraded spring for the brake pedal and it is pretty close to "real" now. The gas pedal is still a little too light but not terrible.

Lately I have been turning a few laps at Mid-Ohio and I am a little less than two seconds off the target pace for Spec Miata. I have actually done a couple pace laps on that track with the MR2 Spyder and at speed laps as a passenger in a FR-S so it is fun to compare real with virtual.

The Xbone controller is actually very good. They have vibration sensors in the triggers for braking & acceleration. I'll eventually get a wheel, but these controllers are pretty darn good, IMO.

I will be honest and say "No". The chair occupies space in a small bedroom in my house that has been converted to my computer room. With the stained wood it matches some of the furniture in there. It is not a bad idea though.

Don't have it set up yet, but I'm collecting "parts" to build one that will be primarily be used for PC flight sim, but will have it flexible for racing sim too.

Plan to have a 3 screen setup with either 32 or 40 inch TVs, with some Saitek flight controls and instruments. May use a 4th screen for the cockpit on the airplane setup. Design would be similar to @Rampage but I was thanking of using metal tubing rather than wood.

Have most of the flight controls, need the TVs and a decent PC to run it all.

I don't have a decent wheel, or really a decent setup other than "clamp the shitty Microsoft Xbox Wheel to a desk" but going with a 21:9 monitor made a huge difference over the 16:9, enough that I'm not entertaining the idea of a triple screen setup anymore.
